***OFFICIAL GOPHERS V NORTHWESTERN GAME THREAD!!!***

When the big center is making 3's, you might be in trouble.

I know some of it is bad defense, but this is getting ridiculous. Even their big man who isn't a good shooter made a 3 pointer.

I think our lack of depth given our style hurts a bit. In general, we make good plays pressing and with the defense but there are stretches where a defense can move us around and get open shots due to our guys not being able to go 100% the whole game or pick up fouls.

I was able to get on GH - but the basketball - football - etc forums wouldn't open up last night - today - and right up to about 6PM tonight.

Why - at least since Tubby arrived, and continuing through Pitino - do the Gophers put no value on the defensive 3 point arc? In today's game, guarding the 3 should be a priority. The interior defenders should be left 1-on-1 to guard inside; guards cannot be caught sinking inside in today's game.

It would help if more guys on the team other than Diedhou would value the technique of boxing out. While he clears his man and pushes him back 15 feet from the hoop, other offensive guys come in willy nilly to rebound free balls on the other mindless rebounders.

Carlos Morris man. You can't play him if he refuses or doesn't know how to play defense.

I would like us to contest one 3 point shot before the end of the night. Just one. Please?

Hey NW could beat anyone in the country the way they're shooting, right?

I think that's what I'm supposed to say according to you guys.

I can't take a loss to Northwestern and that spaz Demps.

It's a curious approach to defense, and here we are taking it in the second straight coaching regime.

No one said that about this game. Like the announcer said, Indiana made 12 or 13 contested three's. Were just not defending the 3 tonight.

How do we go from being so good on the defensive end the last few weeks to this the past two games? Is it effort?

Can we play a 4-1 defense? Four guys along the perimeter?
