*** OFFICIAL GOPHERS-LAFAYETTE GAME THREAD ***

If Ohio state loses to Kansas, a lower ranked team, at home, and if this score keeps up, it could be a double digit loss, I am 99% certain the gophers will be ranked higher than OSU.

My guess is OSU falls to 13-15, and gophers will be 11 or 10 depending on if kansas state can beat florida, which I have a sneaky suspicion they will

KSU up 10 over florida, 33-23 at halftime

Tubby just told Ann Caroll, "We didn't play Elliott Eliason, there's some things going on." Not sure if that means he was sick or there was another reason.

hope its not academic, thats what always worries me when fall semester ends, if it is, at least it isn't someone who is a big piece to the team

My guess, and a guess only because I hate doing guesses unless I know what I am guessing about, is that it might be academic related. If it is, I can almost guarantee that EE's parents are with Tubby on things.

Instead of the hack-a-shaq teams used to play against Shaq they will have to run the whack-a-mo against us the next couple of years.

Eliason said he wasn't hurt but Tubby called it a "coaching decision" why his former starting center didn't play tonight. #Gophers

Eliason was all B1G academic team last year. Highly doubt it's academics.

42 bench points for the Gophers tonight, which is phenomenal. However, the statistics for this game show the Gophers being really rusty, other than turnovers. In the TO department we did well, especially for this squad. We got 42 points from the bench, but our FG% was only 42% and our 3 pt% was a dismal 28%. Add 56% from the charity stripe and Tubby has a LOT of complaining to do before MSU on the 31st.

This was one of those games where the statistics would look to show a much closer game, but the two most important statistics in basketball are rebounding and turnovers. Lafayettes 18 TOs are a significant reason for their loss. Once again the Gophers play really tough defense. They'll need that on the 31st.

#7 Ohio State, #8 Florida, and #10 Illinois all lost. We probably have an outside shot at top 10.

I'm thinking 11 with a decent chance that Ohio State falls behind us and we get to 10. It'll be nice to just move up a spot or two.

The Gophers rebounding stats would have been way way worse if the first shot would go in. It seemed like there were a bunch of times where there were 3 or 4 offensive rebounds and tip backs that eventually ended in a follow dunk. Made the Gophers look like good dunkers but bad shooters/tippers.

A win is a win and all wins are good, IMO. Unless someone gets a major injury during scrub time. Gops did what they needed to do. Here's to getting ready for MSU...
