***OFFICIAL FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I had to tune in just to see with my own eyes. 40 pts in 28 minutes vs. FDU. End this. Now.

Don't blame @formerlybis, the analytics said the Gophers should score 80+ today and the analytics never lie.
Torvik had this game predicted as 77-61, so that was pretty damn near the final score. My post about a 80-point game was an optimistic prediction, given how bad FDU's defense is - not what the analytics said.

I'll admit it looked like it was WILDLY optimistic after a 20-point first half, though.

In a bit of good news, it appears Mike Mitchell has found his groove. Taking into consideration who we were playing, he looked comfortable out there.
On the other hand, Patterson holding the ball for as long as he did made me want to headbutt a bouquet of bricks

One would think it would make a coach want to do the same..... but it seems not to.

Asuma has a long way to go as a player but the offense looks a whole lot better with him setting it up. I think that it should be Edmunds, Garcia, Femi, Mitchell, Asuma.

I’m back in the cities with my family for the holidays. I’ve done everything I can to indoctrinate my daughter into being a Gopher fan so that when I watch Gopher football on Saturdays we call it “giving momma a break”. My strategy has now officially come back to bite me in the ass. Today, it was her choice we could go to the Gopher basketball game or go see Moana 2. Unfortunately, she chose the Gophers.

Edmunds was not much of a factor today. He never sealed his defender and demanded a post entrance. He (and the whole team) refused to fight for rebounds. Instead, they just watch the ball and turn every rebound into a 50-50 ball. Edmunds as our big shows just how far the Gophers have fallen in recruiting bigs.

It doesn't seem to say much that he had 8 rebounds too. He needs to play more as he is a better rebounder and has better hands than Parker.

I have no inside information - just a wild hunch - but

I predict that Coyle will give Ben the dreaded "vote of confidence" at some point in January.

Coyle will add that "he will evaluate Johnson's performance after the season is complete."

which, in Coyle-speak, means he's already trying to back-channel with potential candidates or their agents.

then, 3 or 4 days after the season ends, Coyle will announce that Johnson will not return. Coyle will stress that this was "a mutual decision." this will be a lie.

That's what irritated me the most too. I was saying to myself "For God sakes, stop dribbling so much and either shoot or pass!"

He's not a top 7 player on any other B10 team

I'm not so sure. He likely wouldn't play as much as here but he does help in his own unique way. If he just didn't turn the ball over as much as he does he'd be a valuable utility player on more than a few teams.

Completely agree with Asuma. Seems to have a knack for finding guys. Probably would have had more than 4 assists if we could hit a few more shots. His shot will come with more playing time.
I think that line up is our best line up. Patterson should be coming off the bench
