Weird move by himI would have preferred Virginia.
Weird move by himI would have preferred Virginia.
Purdue also has a running back transferring in from Texas that is ranked the 17th best running back in the portal according to 24/7. Jerrick Gibson was a 4* IMG academy graduate with 3 years of eligibilityI would have preferred Virginia.
Why do you think it’s a weird move?Weird move by him
He went to a worse program. Why do you think it’s a weird move?
Too high of a location?
Or too low?
Maybe he’s getting paid more thereJust throwing this out there, when you see an odd portal choice, which this one is, I think. Both the choice of going portal and school choice, do you think it could be a case of following a significant other? Well………..?
Yeah but he wants to get more PT and he would’ve been RB3 here most likely. He went to a worse program.
++Seems like he went into the portal looking for something better and he quickly realized this was the best he could do.
This or more promise of carriesMaybe he’s getting paid more there
Perfect example of the "I want it now" mentality that seems to drive a lot of this. He would have eventually seen/earned more playing time here. But (oh the horror) he would have had to continue to work and develop to move up the chain. What an unreasonable expectation! Whatever... like I would for any opposing running back, I hope the Gopher D holds him to minus ten yards rushing in any game they play against him. Goodbye. This or more promise of carries
Yep, especially given DT’s injury history.Perfect example of the "I want it now" mentality that seems to drive a lot of this. He would have eventually seen/earned more playing time here. He had only 28 carries less than Purdues top rusher this year.Yeah but he wants to get more PT and he would’ve been RB3 here most likely.
Hard to move up in both program and depth chart at the same time
Yeah but he projected for fewer carries with Mn next year than he had this yearHe had only 28 carries less than Purdues top rusher this year.
I dunno, I think the number two role will be wide open.I mean Ijeboi wanted a chance for more carries which he probably wasn't going to get here. A bit of an unfair comparison as the kid we got is going to be down the depth chart. Flat out we've got a better RB room.
What expensive players did we get?So with how well we’re doing in the portal here are we one of the poorest power conference teams and should think about dropping down to D3 or do we actually have enough money to compete?
The big thing though is after next year the situation would look really good for him here as a junior and senior. The lack of patience and foresight with some of these transfers is crazy. Assuming playing time was the determining factor.Yeah but he projected for fewer carries with Mn next year than he had this year
He was competing for RB2 here
He is going to be competing for RB1 there.
If you could guarantee DT injury (insert joke here) I get what you’re saying but you can’t
Bad advice, odd obsession with trains, likes ugly unisJust throwing this out there, when you see an odd portal choice, which this one is, I think. Both the choice of going portal and school choice, do you think it could be a case of following a significant other? Well………..?

Players come to MN from better programs too…happens both waysHe went to a worse program.
Considering his role he might also be getting paid more. That could be a very reasonable choice.Perfect example of the "I want it now" mentality that seems to drive a lot of this. To me he seemed like the heir apparent and was getting better as he got the ball.Sounds like we all wish Fame was still a Gopher? I too, think he made a poor decision.
We'll see if Mo makes a difference with the guys he's got.
Jayden Everett left after Fame left...maybe Fame didn't like Jayden...maybe it was a non factor.
I’d prefer to have kept him, but I don’t think he’s a starting rb if your aspirations are for the program to make a step up.Sounds like we all wish Fame was still a Gopher? I too, think he made a poor decision.

Unless Minnesota recruits over him with a transfer or a high schooler? The big thing though is after next year the situation would look really good for him here as a junior and senior. 100%. I dont love losing players, but coaches are trying to replace current players all day everyday. Kids get one shot at a college experience and if they wanna move cuz of whatever reason - I get it. Wish em well and move on.Unless Minnesota recruits over him with a transfer or a high schooler?
There is no such thing as two years from now anymore
Added Zion and Xion.....Seems like we are going to need more guys to leave to make room for the transfers but the numbers always seem to work out in the end.
