Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Really thought we would hear more after the bowl game. Hopefully a good sign that the majority of the guys that are going to transfer out have already made their declaration but guess we will see when the portal officially opens in a few days.

I am sure there will be more guys leaving but if things stay like they are the coaches are going to have to be very selective with who they bring in because there are not a ton of roster spots available.

I forget which thread it was in, but someone posted the game availability image from the bowl game and there seemed to be several players with eligibility left who were not injured that sat out. I assumed that meant those players would be leaving but, as you said, there have been few additional announcements.

Edit: It's #576 in this thread.

Could be a lot of negotiating behind the scenes still so players won't announce until they have signed. The longer we go without players announcing their plans to leave, the better I think.

Really? When did he say that? I've watched a decent number of Huddle videos over the years and when I watched Braiden Stevens, his speed did not look that rare and neither did his wiggle. He outran some kids, but not by a lot. You see a 10.38 reported for him in articles, but when I dug in, I couldn't really find evidence of it and he certainly didn't look THAT fast on the football field. If he did run that time, it must have been in a 10 mph tailwind. He did have a number of times in the 10.8 range so Koi Perich like which is still pretty dang good! Just minus 5 inches and 40 pounds. I'll be surprised if he has much of a roll especially early. Maybe he can grow into a slot receiver over time. I certainly hope I'm wrong and he's more than that!

I've linked to a timestamp where the relevant segment begins -- the segment about Braiden is about a minute or so.

I wonder if that was a relay time? That would make sense to me. In any case, I hope you're right and he can help right away. Based on his Huddle tape, I don't believe it.
There’s a video of him running the 10.38. It was an actual track meet. There is also one of him running the 10.48. And he looks that fast on his Hudl tape. Maybe you watched the wrong one.

What about Koi? Anyone know why he’s waiting to announce his decision? Waiting for offers?
There is some talk on the other board that he may be open to moving.

Playing here for 2 years, and then going somewhere where he can win it all.

We shall see.

Wonder if that could have played a role in him getting more touches on offense in the bowl game.

I know they were down a bunch of WR but also being sure to remind him they're open to leveraging his versatility on both sides of the ball.

I know some we're down on his play this year but that would be a significant blow. Hope we can keep him.

His schedule was to play for 3 years, then move on to the NFL. Hope he decides to stay. I wonder how he and PJ get along. It seems that Koi hasn't fully embraced the RTB mantra. Something as simple as handing the ball to the ref was ignored on several occasions. Not a real big deal, I guess, but still flies in the face of the ball is the program.

I saw that as well. He did it at least 3 times and we all know that PJ says; " the ball is the program". I hope there is no friction between them.

He's not going to start at a blue blood. MN is the best option for him if he wants to be the man. I think we'll be OK if he leaves but I don't think it's a good idea.

Wolfson says Jaxon Howard is back and deal was reported on a couple weeks ago.

We need Perich but if he goes elsewhere, someone else will step up.

Controversial opinion coming:

I don't care for the attitude if he's not handing the ball to the refs and going against what's been the norm for this program. That shit's toxic, it reeks of unearned arrogance, and it can spread like poison across the roster if it goes unchecked. I hope the staff isn't turning a blind eye to some or all of that just in the hopes of keeping him around, it's a slap in the face to every other guy on the roster who've worked their asses off to get on the field.

Perich is good, but he hasn't shown he's the next coming of AWJr. There's nothing reasonable to me that indicates the staff needs to sacrifice the culture this program is built on to ensure he stays.

He’ll start and possibly play better, but if he doesn’t want to be a Gopher, bye. Maybe the firing of his special teams coach is something he wanted or is a factor in all of it.

I haven't seen enough to be confident with this statement.

Yeah Koi would start for just about every team in college football, he wouldn't portal out to be a back up and would have plenty of suiters. Obviously I hope he stays there is more at stake than just Koi, optics of in State recruiting and what we pitch to the top local guys takes a huge hit if Koi leaves

We can be fine without him but would be a big bummer (for a couple reasons) to lose him. I guess it also depends on his salary here. If he demands a crazy salary maybe he isn't worth it?
