Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Nestor may never have to pay for a beer anywhere in the Twin Cities, for the rest of his life.

Better dead than red! Ski-u-mah!
Nestor coming back is a nice boost for the D next year. I know some in here had issues with him at times but he was often one of the best players on the field for us and of course his Wisconsin game was one for the ages.

While I think it is sad that we have hit a point where players have to announce they are coming back it is great seeing all these starters confirming they will be back in 2026. Bunch of key names that haven't made an indication either way but the returning list is looking really good.

It is a bit alarming that our weakest position right now if possibly WR and it's our HC's position of expertise and he's had a consistent coach at the position. It's the depth that is the issue. We can put 2-3 good players on the field, but it falls off quickly with depth and players seeing the field.

Brockington has a solid career. 46 catches in 12 games
Smith was a R-Fr and has potential. 22 catches in 12 games
Tracy played well 35 catches in 12 games
Loya 10 catches over 10 games
Lainer 3 catches over 10 games
Coleman 5 catches over 8 games

TE's had 5 players play all 12 games and combined for 49 catches.

We return Smith and will need at least 3 WR's to come in or step up.
If Brockington is the benchmark for a solid career the bar is low. Ok senior season but he’s got barely 1000 yards in four years. Also with 3 of the top 6-7 QBs in gopher history.

I’d consider his career disappointing at best.

Brockington is 29th in yards receiving in the 140 year history of the school

While he isn’t an all time great, saying the 29th best guy of all time isn’t solid is straight up insane.

I think you could say he wasn’t good enough to contend and not be insane

I haven’t seen anything that shows Perich is with the team in Phoenix. Not saying he isn’t there but a lot of the bigger names have been shown in various videos and photos.

There is a game notes post by Gopher Football from the 22nd that shows both Perich and Brown in Phoenix. Someone good at posting Tweets can add it I'm sure but feel confident that Koi is there.

Now he hasn't made any indication about next year yet but at the very least he should be out there on Friday and hopefully back for more next year.

I guess I disagree. I thought he was a very positive contributor and a solid B10 receiver.

Thats fair. I just think overall his career was not that impressive. I mean KJ Maye, Chuck Rios, and Aaron Hosak had more yards than him...I like him and maybe he could have been used better, but I just think his career was a little dissapointing.

Le'Meke will always hold a place in my heart for Gopher football simply for his tremendous RAC against Wisconsin to seal the victory in 2022. If by some chance our paths ever crossed later in life that is the Gopher memory I would bring up to him.

Scoring game-winning TD at Wisconsin in 2022 is worth about 500 career yards😀🐿🏈.

Everyone has an opinion and thats a totally fair take. If all of his seasons were like his last one I would agree.

I mean his 2nd and 3rd year COMBINED he played in 20 games, catching 23 passes for 355 yards and 2 tds.

Just saying its a low benchmark. Not a hill I am willing to die on, just an opinion.

Rios = 9th in catches in program history
Maye = 18th in catches and also had 51 rushes

Hosack = 17th in touchdowns and 18th in yards.

You’re saying the names of undeniable top 25 wideouts in program history here.

This is not me saying Brockington is an nfl guy. This is just saying you may have a higher standard for what is solid than I do.
There is a massive amount of space between all time great and below average.
