Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Again, if a transfer plays a significant role it’s not a whiff even if he isn’t good. He’s better than the alternative options that were on the roster. I haven’t looked but I’m guessing we had more starts from first year transfer guys this year than we have ever had before.
You still need them to be good. Some were, some weren't and some were probably a little better than people care to admit. Some like Davis and Biber did what they were suppose to do, no more no less

Where did you hear he wasn’t being talked to or provided any guidance?
I drink and I know things, it’s true. Actually, the Ally’s got to know the young man through our kid at the U. He did not have a positive experience. Hopefully he finds a good home

2 sides to every story but bummer he didn't have a good experience during his time at the U.

5 WR gone with Coleman. Crazy given we have talent at QB.
Possible that they looked at it and felt they were no better than 4th next year behind Tracy, Smith, and either Hayes/Martino with a bunch of freshman coming in and likely transfers as well.

In the old days (you know like 4-5 years ago) guys would keep working and try to earn their spot. Now they just go looking for a new school.

Losing Coleman hurts, I thought he would take the next step in 2026. One would think the receivers would be excited to be catching bombs from Lyndsey.
Seems like we’ve been down this road with receivers just like him a handful of times. I never really thought he was gonna amount too much after about half this season went by without him getting any run.

He also struggled with the transition from high school to college ball, and got homesick.

Jack literally came in the next season, Jack may have even committed before Flip went into the portal I don't remember the timelines TBH
You are correct. Maybe it was a combo of how he played at the end of the season and losing two upper class linebackers that year. The memory works in mysterious ways. I do recall thinking he was going to be a stud and help mask linebacker deficiency in pass coverage.

Wright, Tyler, now Coleman….seems like every time.

To be fair, I’m guessing the OC typically doesn’t do much chit chatting with the fourth/fifth string QB. It’s probably more on the position and S&C coaches to develop players at the early stage Kollock was in.

It looks like Smith beat out Coleman and the latter is the odd man out.

He hardly communicated to the kid all year, no guidance. Maybe he wanted to run him off
If Harbaugh didn't take time to work and communicate with Kollock, he should be shown the door. Either that or they have to have someone on staff that is exclusively the QB coach instead of having the OC/QB coach designation.

Well then… 😂 should probably have a separate QB coach.
Harbaugh is the QB coach
probably should have a designated QB coach for these young guys who are buried on the depth chart fresh out of high school, however we don’t pay our coordinators let alone a separate QB coach. Hopefully the new Cali kid has a better experience

Totally agree, unfortunately PJ doesn’t get the money for assistants.
