I really liked the changes that the staff made in how we are aligning our offensive linemen and how we are now blocking for the run.

With our limits in talent and experience and the fact that our young kids (especially Epping and Gjere) have been getting mauled on the line when trying to block one on one, our coaching staff shifted to a tighter formation and more combo blocking to the play side on runs.

While the results might have been reflected with huge benefits...we at least kept the defenders from throwing our guys into the backfield on every play.

I love this style of offensive line play...look no further than Wiscy and Alabama for similar blocking schemes on run plays. More ball side movement and eventually some cutback lanes will start to appear.

Now if we only had a running back with some vision and the ability to cut back and hit a backside hole.

I agree completely Philly. We're still over matched on our line but I did see some better holes today.

I saw some glimmers of hope especially in the second half. Some will say, it was against Nebraska's second stringers, but you have to consider that it was between players with the same level of experience. Those Nebraska players will be starters in the future.

considering the opponent i would venture to say today was the best ive seen the ol

I was impressed with there play early on in the game, I thought for most part they gave Gray some decent time today.
