Alright; so the Cal game is over and done with. We each have our own perspectives, but today's game made me wonder...if you had to assemble an “Offensive Gopher All-Decade Team,” and compile a team of current and former Gophers from the past decade (2000-2010), would any of the current players make the team? In my opinion, from this year’s team, I feel Decker would make the cut, however, I believe a significant portion of this year’s talent, would serve as backups on previous Gopher teams. Nonetheless, here’s my selection:
FIRST TEAM:
QUATERBACK:
Asad Abdul-Khaliq
RUNNINGBACK
Laurence Maroney
WIDE RECEIVER
Eric Decker
Ron Johnson
TIGHT-END
Matt Spaeth
Ben Utecht
OFFENSIVE LINE
Adam Haayer
Mark Setterstrom
Ben Hamilton
Greg Eslinger
Rian Melander
SECOND TEAM:
QUATERBACK:
Adam Weber
RUNNINGBACK
Marion Barber
WIDE RECEIVER
Aaron Hosack
Logan Payne
TIGHT-END
Matt Spaeth
Jack Simmons
OFFENSIVE LINE
Tony Brinkhaus
Joe Quinn
Joe Ainsle
Jeremiah Carter
Nick Tow-Arnett
Feel free to comment and make your defensive selections.
