Just thought today's great efforts deserved a little poetic treatment, not to equate my drivel with poetry.
There’s a site on the Web called the Gopher Hole.
It’s all about fans who with their heart and their soul,
Follow “Da U” and its maroon and gold teams.
No step is too small or too large it may seem.
To find out the new coach to restore football glory,
To the days when Champions were a then current story.
Da U posted a profile of the new coaching Man,
And Holers said, “We can find out, yes we can.”
So someone researched, dug around and he found
That Joel had left campus to fly and to travel around
Some also found a private flight was headed to Philly,
The private plane of a booster this is way beyond silly
There’s a coach there from Temple and his name is “Golden”.
Like a sign from the Gods a name to make us beholdin’
Our best people searched and the flight times they found.
And our own hero, DP, was there on the ground.
With stealth and aplomb and great risk in the dark,
He was there with his iPhone when the plane stopped to park.
Like a miserable sneak scurrying around like a roach
He filmed their landing...NO DAMNED FOOTBALL COACH!
Not a real problem this one-timed missed shot,
Cuz we showed the buggers the resources we’ve got.
Unlike the local sportscasters and press,
We do more than just speculate and guess.
We do research and work with our legs
Unlike the miserable local newspaper dregs
Some of them even picked up on our links,
Worse than lazy, by God that just plain stinks.
Tomorrow’s a new day and we’ll start new by golly,
And soon we’ll own the details of Maturi’s last folly.
