Oct 16 Nebraska Game Scheduled for 11am CT

Not a great week of games is it.
Not sure who thought it would be a good idea to put penn state, Ohio state, Michigan, Maryland, Illinois, and Wisconsin all on a bye week

The conference is lucky Wisconsin scheduled a non conference game that week.

In the TV driven world we are in, the days of 1 pm starts are becoming fewer and farther in between.

That game always happens in west Lafayette though…so I don’t think that’s it

Look for Purdue inexplicably to beat Michigan state or Wisconsin this year tough
Wisconsin looks bad, Purdue over Wisconsin might not be that much of an upset.

CBS sports reported it as a 11am eastern time kickoff. Is this correct or a typo?

While at Purdue I saw the scoreboard note that it was a sellout so the Boilermakers will have a strong home crowd.
actually, expect big Badger presence that bought cheap tickets at Ross Ade...short trip for large number of Badger alums from Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison

Could be a big empty crowd if Wisconsin is 3-4 or 2-5 going in

The Billds' complaint with the 11 AM starts is the relative lack of Stadium Village support for the early morning crowd.

For those who don't wish to tailgate, hitting the small eateries for a leisurely bite of takeout on the plaza before an afternoon or evening game is just fine. We happen to have a system of imbibing in plain view that works great.

We know it's usually short notice and only 2-3 Saturdays a fall but still it's an opportunity for some business that is not realized.

Other than that it's an early game. Certainly did not keep us from beating PSU a couple of years ago in The Bank.

Are the commercials on ESPN2 better than ESPNU?

Anything outside prime time viewing on ESPN ... is absolute GARBAGE PRODUCTION VALUES now. Even the second game on ESPN is often cable access quality, or worse.

They were at least better than the late night production at CBS Sports in 2019 against Fresno State.

Yeah, if you are not in line at Sallys 30 minutes before they open at 9 am, you can forget dining ahead of this game.... We used to breakfast at Mannings on Como pregame, but ownership turned over and they canned the excellent existing staff.... 1 1/2 hours for eggs when the place was half full before the Miami-Ohio game... steer clear of there.

I swear there is a business of "buy food service place, gut staff, provide shitty everything ... close" out there.

You know they fired the staff?

That is interesting to hear -- there is one server I recognized that has been there ~10 years -- but the food we got before the homecoming parade was terrible and our server forgot many things. It's too bad to hear because I love their onion rings but was surprised by the experience. Disclaimer, it had been ~2 years since I had been there.
