We were missing several key players in the Syracuse game, our #1 RB and both CBs. The CBs could be back this week. They are big time players and really make a difference. How about Decker. He is also an impact player and his status will have a big impact on the game. How is he doing?

It sounds like the ankle injury to Decker was minor and he will play.

We were missing starting CB Marcus Sherels each of the last two weeks with a sprained ankle but he should be back in the line up for this game.

Backup free safety Mike Rallis broke his fibula last week so he is out of the line up. We will miss his play on special teams. The injury moves freshman Kenny Watkins in to the two-deep at Free Safety.

We are also without our #1 punter Dan Orseske who is suffering from mono. Blake Hauden handled those duties last week and performed very well.

I think that is everything.

Decker and Sherels are expected to play. Sherels would be a starting DB if not injured.

100% going to play haha, sorry to disappoint you

I never hope for any player to be injured. I had heard that he got dinged up and wondered if he would be 100%. It should be a tough game that could go either way.

No worries. We just get some flamer "fans" from the school to the south. That tends to put us a bit on edge. Nothing but respect for Northwestern.

This Saturday looks like another classic.

Cheers! and Go Gophers!!!

Seattle, can you come back the day before the game and give us an overview/status of injured players (including #) and who will be replacing them (including number). I like to know that kind of info (if success is coming against backups, is a 2nd stringer making us look bad, etc) when I'm watching these games. The post by Grunkie gives you an accurate assessment of our situation.

Thanks,

I'll do the best I can. Fitz doesn't disclose much about injuries. If you lurk on our Rivals board you might get some info.

Injury update

As others have reported McManis our top CB and Williams our MLB are back are reported to be 100%. Wootton also seems to improving week to week. We will need all 3 of those guys in top form to have a chance in tomorrow's game. Our TB is still out though.

What a big game for both schools. College football, gotta love it.

Don't forget DE Derrick Onwuachi who hasn't seen the field this season after starting most games last season.
