ROAD TO SELECTION SUNDAY, MN -- Week 4 of the college hoops season welcomes 7 new teams to our Field of 68 projection, including a pair from the ACC (Clemson & SMU), an addition (Butler) to the now 5-bid Big East, and a new automatic qualifier in the Summit League (South Dakota State), which knocks St. Thomas out of the SL top spot for the first time this season.

Automatic qualifiers in multiple-bid conferences (noted with an *) hold the best conference record or, in the event of a tie, best Bart Torvik T-Rank (noted in parentheses).

COLLEGE HOOPS SUMMIT
Tommie Talk & the Torvik (T-Rank) Rankings

St. Thomas (5-3, 3-5 ATS) moved up two spots to #146 after defeating host Portland 76-66 to win the Portland Invitational with a 2-1 record in the 4-team round-robin. Northern Colorado also finished 2-1, but the Tommies grabbed the crown by virtue of its head-to-head win over the Bears. Sophomore guard Nolan Minessale did a little bit of everything for the Tommies, going for 24 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocked shots. It was his 8th straight 20+ game to start the season.

Redshirt junior forward Carter Bjerke (16 points) broke out of an early-season 3-point shooting funk going 4-for-7 from three-point territory, while adding a team-high 6 rebounds as well as 3 assists. Redshirt freshman Nick Janowski pitched in with 15.

The Fighting Sioux improved their record to 3-5 behind 21 points from Garrett Anderson. Eli King added 18 and Greyson Uelmen 16.

Jordan Crawford netted the go-ahead layup and scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Yotes (4-3) to their fourth win in five games. Isaac Bruns and Shey Eberwein scored 14 points apiece, while Cameron Fens added 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Quinnipiac 83, Pitt 75

Reigning MAAC Player of the Year Amarri Moore led Quinnipiac with 25 points, leading the Bobcats past Pitt for its first-ever win over an ACC opponent. It was the Bobcats' first win over a Power 5 opponent since Dec. 21, 2014, when they defeated Pac-12 foe Oregon State. The Bobcats (4-2) were 11-of-17 from 3-point range (64.7%).

There is no better first name in college basketball than Oklahoma State sophomore guard ""Vyctorious" Miller. With a name like that, you know the guy can play! Miller is the leading scorer for the undefeated Cowboys averaging 17.5 PPG. Vyctorious is shooting a blistering 50% (12 of 24) from three-point land and 87.9% from the charity stripe.
