I have a feeling that TT's negotiating strategy is "Here is your offer. If you take it now, then it's yours. If you walk out that door, then it is off the table."
 






CBS sports is reporting that TT has a minimum of 10 million in NIL money this recruiting cycle. Sounds like it was a done deal before he decommited to me.

Yeah, it's a bit interesting in terms of how it went down and you don't know what influence the parents have as well. However, TT might have a whale or two in their fanbase who are willing to write some checks. They had their collective pay a softball transfer from Stanford $1.05M for a non-revenue sport. So, maybe TT surprised and told Nolan they'd pay him 100K to sign on top of whatever the House settlement money ends up being this summer. So, he get's back on Sat and gives Niko a call and says unless you can match this amount then there's no reason for me to show up Monday. Then Niko is like best of luck to you. Because these kids are getting some kind of small salary this fall, once the House Settlement goes through and I'm sure MN is not spending NIL money on a high school kid who had the one great Senior season and a total of 3 P4 offers.

From the fan's perspective, this is just another money pit, and it won't be the last.
 

This is not that big of a loss, IMHO. The kid has great work ethic but is not overly athletic. Good shooter but we can find a capable replacement if not better. It’s a win for us because he didn’t commit to the skunks. So sick of that narrative!! Go Gophers!!!!

Very true. It just makes you shake your head that it used to be asked of the fan, if you want the team to succeed buy season tickets, kick in some donations for better facilities. Okay done. Makes sense.

Now it is, you need to still do that, but you also have to kick in money to pay the players salaries. And not just a few bucks so they can eat and have gas money to go home and see their parents, but big money so that they can get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars more than myself to play on the Gopher basketball team. I like when the Gophers win, but no thanks.
