You do a disservice to Fargo.
Good
You do a disservice to Fargo.
This one hurts a bit
Just need vitamin A!Hope he's had his measles vaccine
How about, "Anything they offer, we'll double!"I have a feeling that TT's negotiating strategy is "Here is your offer. If you take it now, then it's yours. If you walk out that door, then it is off the table."
In 2023 there were 46 days of 100°+ temps in Lubbock; in 2024 there were 28.Lubbock is far from exotic. It's warmer, but it's dry and the wind is relentless. There's still plenty of cold in the winter too.
That would make sense if he didn't commit and went on his Gopher visit and then chose TT.How about, "Anything they offer, we'll double!"
I don’t know man, turning down Yale for Lubbock doesn’t seem like a good long term plan.
Perhaps, he is going to try and earn the tuition to Yale. One season, pays it off. Even beats the GI bill.Agreed.
Absolutely the reason he decommitted the rest was a smoke screenCBS sports is reporting that TT has a minimum of 10 million in NIL money this recruiting cycle. Sounds like it was a done deal before he decommited to me.
I think this one is it. It's what I'd do, come to think of it.Maybe leverage?
"This other schools are really interested too, if you want me, make your best offer."
This is what he liked about Texas Tech.$$$$And that wind blows around a lot of dirt. Like a dirty blizzard where you can't see far enough ahead to even drive.
Yeah, it's a bit interesting in terms of how it went down and you don't know what influence the parents have as well. However, TT might have a whale or two in their fanbase who are willing to write some checks. They had their collective pay a softball transfer from Stanford $1.05M for a non-revenue sport. So, maybe TT surprised and told Nolan they'd pay him 100K to sign on top of whatever the House settlement money ends up being this summer. So, he get's back on Sat and gives Niko a call and says unless you can match this amount then there's no reason for me to show up Monday. Then Niko is like best of luck to you. Because these kids are getting some kind of small salary this fall, once the House Settlement goes through and I'm sure MN is not spending NIL money on a high school kid who had the one great Senior season and a total of 3 P4 offers.I have a feeling that TT's negotiating strategy is "Here is your offer. If you take it now, then it's yours. If you walk out that door, then it is off the table."
Yea, but he might not get into Yale on 2nd try, or if he's not connected to the basketball team.Perhaps, he is going to try and earn the tuition to Yale. One season, pays it off. Even beats the GI bill.
From the fan's perspective, this is just another money pit, and it won't be the last. The idea of even paying a little money to a collective to pay college kids to play sports is weird as hell to me but absolutely bizarre to spend millions to do so. To each their own I guess.
Very true. It just makes you shake your head that it used to be asked of the fan, if you want the team to succeed buy season tickets, kick in some donations for better facilities. Okay done. Makes sense. From the fan's perspective, this is just another money pit, and it won't be the last.
In todays environment you just let him develop his game elsewhere for a year or two then catch him in the portal next time aroundReally not that big of a deal, wouldn't have been a rotation guy for us this year.
As noted above, he'll be a free agent in 11 months.Time to move this thread to off-topic. The kid is a Texas Tech thread, not a Gopher.
