NIT Game #2: #1 Gophers vs. #4 Saint Mary's [ESPN2, 2:00PM]

The KY/WSU game was college ball at its highest level. Absolutely superb. Yes, the gophers did play down to the level of their competition and have, at times, played better during the B1G season. However, we are still miles from the big boys in talent and offensive flow.

It's not the ankle. He hasn't been the same since day one of the season.

I'm not sure about that. He has looked quite a bit worse since coming back from injury. His shot has looked off.

I was curious about the numbers so I took the ten non cream puff games prior to the injury and the fourteen games post injury and his shooting percentage (.380 pre; .382 post) is nearly identical.

Shooting % isn't the greatest metric to measure a scorer's ability.

Andre's PPS (points per shot) before the injury = 1.45, better than last year
Andre's PPS after the injury = 1.26

It's clear the injury has affected him, mainly in his ability to get to the free throw line. He has no dribble drive game whatsoever right now, he's pretty much just a spot up shooter. Getting to the free throw line was a big part of his game earlier in the year, and when you shoot as well as he does from the line, it's a very efficient way to score.

Agreed.

I agree with jaymil that PPS is important to look at......however, I am still concerned about his shooting percentage. I didn't notice his shot being significantly off until recently. Didn't realize that his percentage was this consistent all year.
