Since college basketball is rapidly deteriorating into who can pay the most to their players, we are thinking about this whole coaching thing wrong.

Perhaps Cole should offer the Head Coach position to any wealthy Billionaire who has an affinity for college hoops.

Marc Cuban could buy us a team.
Elon Musk could easily.
Jeff Bezos

These guys finance the team and show up for games while the assistant coaches do the day to day coaching. The rich guys show up for the glamour of yelling at the refs and taking off their jackets. Their companies get young athletes to push product.

It could work. What they are trying sure isn’t.

Nope just going to get more coaches like Nick Saban and retire. Getting to the point where will anybody care!

I understand the sentiment but realistically only Payne is leaving for an NIL payday. No disrespect to JOJ and Carrington but no one is rolling out the brinks truck to get them to their (Likely mid-major) schools. Players leaving starts and ends with coaching and it is not a part of their job to manage the NIL landscape and be able to retain its roster. This 100% is a coaching/program thing more than NIL.
