per the Daily:

Under any circumstances, graduating in three years is an impressive feat.

Doing so while playing Big Ten basketball is incredible.

That’s exactly what Gophers junior walk-on guard Kendal Shell is set to accomplish in the spring, when he’ll graduate with a degree in business marketing education with minors in leadership and sport management.

And if that isn’t enough, he also spends time volunteering.

“He’s a good all-around guy,” junior guard Andre Hollins said.

“He comes to work every single day,” Pitino said. “He deserves to be here … [and] I’m proud of him.”

Go Gophers!!

This is a great article. I think you all know I'm a fan of underdogs, hence, my appreciation for #ShellTime...but this is exactly what kids should be doing. He's playing a sport he loves, not a star, but getting a great education and taking advantage of every opportunity. If the other 95% of athletes that aren't going pro took this approach, they'd know that they could be set for life.

I'm sure Coach P wants to keep the scholarship open for a potential transfer at the semester break. Would love to see Kendal get the open scholarship next semester if it goes unused.

I have met his parents at a few games over the last few years and they are equally impressive. They are both very hard working nice people. Good for the Shells. Kendal is also my favorite player.
