New Mexico State Game on local TV

Many TVs stream internet. This is the wave of the future folks. Has been for years. Really. The cable model is dying.

It's not on the BTN2GO website? Thinking about calling to get a trial of Altitude.

I agree tato - but for now, the quality is different. Steaming internet tv in my experience is pretty *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ty, worse than standard def TV... IF that floats your boat - go for it. I do agree that once it sounds and looks as good as HD via major providers, it'll take over. Just don't like the quality of an I-Pad watching movies/sports in bed , or in the kitchen..... but it's all about convenience these days...

Can anybody officially confirm that this game will be available live nationally on DirecTV?

I keep seeing people say that it will be, but I don't see it listed anywhere.
If I recall, someone, who is simply a blogger with a website that lists where games can be found, said that FSN+ and Altitude 2 would be broadcasting the game. Obvoiusly, at least half of that was wrong. As of right now, there's nothing on the Altitude website that says they're broadcasting the game on their channel or their secondary channel.

Prior to this Saturday, which football games haven't been live?

As for basketball, you are making sh** up:

2006-07 (year before BTN): four home games had ZERO TV/Internet. One away game had zero TV/Internet. TWO Big Ten games were tape-delayed!!!

2004-05: Four home games not televised/streamed. BIG TEN GAME against Northwestern NO TV or Internet.

-per Gophersports.com.

We've never had it so good.

There actually was Gopher BB before 2004.

A time when MSC carried pretty much every game....maybe missed one a year.

A time before the average cable/satellite subscriber was paying $85 per month.

What happens when Big Ten hockey is added to the mix?

Cable TV is not going away anytime soon. Who was the poster that said AM radio was a thing of the past?

I've yet to figure out how to sync BTN from my iphone/pad to my TV like I can with other services, and I can't watch it form my tv online because, well, it sucks as a browser. I'm sure I'm missing because I don't know much about electronics.

Use Airplay mirroring if you have an Apple TV. Double click home button. Swipe to the right twice. Turn on AirPlay mirroring. Wala.

Hey 19 - thanks.

Umm...it's the BTN that would have to shell out the dough to air the game in the first place. Paying that sum to air Gophers-Aggies? Yeah, great business decision.

Way to take a stand!

BTN is not 'broadcasting' anything either way. The game is already being televised by NMSU to Alititude/Fox College Sports Pacific. It's simply a matter of who could pick it up. The most logical would have been for FSN + to air it. Apparently BTN made a stink about that, so we get 'BTN2Go' instead. Great.

Live sports is literally the last remaining stronghold that cable and satellite have to keep viewers. Pretty much anything else is available streaming via a Roku/PS3/Xbox or online. We cut cable for the summer and have been using PS3/Roku to watch movies and TV series and it's been great, but we're likely getting Dish this fall because I won't go without Wild hockey (and local games are blacked out on the NHL GameCenter streams).

I just checked directvs website. No live coverage. First showing is Sunday morning at 3:00 am est. this means ill be trying to figure out how to watch it on the web. Great. I can only hope Pam ward is announcing. I'm sure this helps recruiting. Why couldn't we have just kicked UNCs ass? I would have traveled to that game.

Yes this game will be live on Directv. you need to have the sports package, to get FS Arizona Plus and Altitude 2. and peoples Directv doesn't update there listing until a few days from the game. So it most likely be update Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

So, a bar should have this game right? If so, then problem solved.

How do you know this?
I'm going to be stuck out of town without a computer so a bar and DirectTV is pretty much my only hope at this point.

I'm wondering this as well. There is nothing on NSMU's website about TV coverage, nothing on Altitude's website, or Fox Sports Arizona.

I'm too cheap to pay for cable TV. However, I did the same thing for the Gopher/UNLV game and the MSU/WMU game. I run a VGA cable and connect my sound from the laptop to the TV. The viewing quality is like old school analog, but it's certainly better than staring at the wall while listening to KOOL 108. I suspect that I might improve the screen quality if I switched to HDMI, but for now I use VGA. I'll watch the Gopher/NMSU game the same way.

Connect your iPhone, iPad, or laptop computer to your television ... I just tested this out with the Michigan State / Western Michigan, which is on BTN2Go right now. It's not difficult and works just fine, if you want to see the game on a TV rather than a computer screen.

I must be getting old. I just don't get the outrage because 1 non-conf game may not be available on live TV.

I grew up in rural MN, and I never got to see the Gophs on TV, unless they were on the rare Sat afternoon national TV game against a Michigan or an Ohio State.

I consider myself fortunate to have most of the games on TV. Same thing with Gopher Hoops. If the game's not on TV, I listen to the radio. The nice thing about radio is that you can listen to the game while doing yardwork or some other of those annoying but necessary household chores. In fact, there are times when I will listen to a game on radio, and DVR the TV coverage so I can go back and watch the game later while fast-forwarding through the commercials, halftime and dead spots.

To each his own. And no, I have no clue how to get something from my computer to the TV. I am a luddite on technology. I don't have a smart phone - I don't have a facebook page, and I don't do Twitter.

Did you tap this out in morse code so that your kids could post it on the GH? :p

Go to Best Buy purchase an Apple TV streaming device and use the Apple Airplay app for free and there you go. Instant awesomeness!

I am with you on most of this, but I do want to watch the game and can't believe I might not be able to (live).

Thanks. I appreciate the confirmation from the second link. I don't totally trust the first link, as that's the guy who announced that the game would be on FSN plus around here.

I grew up in the St. Paul and am old enough to remember when all the BB games were not even on the radio.

FSN Pacific shows that the game will be shown in progress after the South Dakota St.-UND game that starts at 6:00. So those trying to watch through FSN Pacific will only get to see the last quarter or so. Unless that listing is wrong of course.

I was just on the DTV website and you can get the Sports package for $7.00 right now (normally 12.99)
