Frontier - RT $244 to Albuquerque - If you don't mind making a bit of a road trip out of the weekend - it's a good deal.

El Paso is close - but $160 more per flight. From ABQ to Las Cruces is about a 3 hour drive down the Rio Grande Valley. Not bad, plus one could check out the Chile Capital of The World .. Hatch NM. Might be worthy of a road trip.

Keep in mind when flying Frontier that depending on what type of fare you book, they may charge you a fee to carry on a bag. They have moved to the ultra low cost carrier model (i.e. - Spirit).

Yes, this offer is their ultra cheap flight. If you check a bag, it's an additional $50 (x-2) ... so fly with just a carry-on, it's not hard to do, for just a weekend. It's amazing what one can pack in a carry-on, if you practice.

Yes, they charge for checked bags. But they now also charge between $25-$100 for carry on luggage, depending on how you book your ticket and what fare class you book. To avoid additional fees, you need to buy a more expensive fare. So be cautioned if you see a fare listed on a travel website, you may be booking the Basic fare in which you will be charged fees for checked bags, carry on bags, and $2 for a beverage during the flight.

The cheap flights still exist. $200 to fly in Sat morning (leaves Mpls at 6 and arrives in ABQ at 9). Then return on Monday so you can do the Breaking Bad tour on Sunday night or Monday morning.
