New Commit John Rabe

I know people aren't super excited about these kinds of commits...but I actually like this guy.

a. Kill has already identified him as a player he likes and fits his system
b. He can be here for spring practice
c. He fills a position of need in our extremely thin junior class, helping to balance it out.

I found it interesting that Rivals called him one of the top pass catching TE's in the JUCO ranks, seeing as how I've heard TE is mainly a blocking position in Kill's offense...

Where did you see this?

It makes sense, there is a pretty big void behind the SRs this year (Lair and Eure). He is a 2star guy with MAC offers and he also is a December grad, so he'll be here for spring ball.

Now does anybody know the number of recruits we can add this year? I keep hearing that a lot of these JuCo guys will count against last years class.

I thought when Brewster would do this tactic, he would mention that he could sign three JUCO December grads and count them towards the previous class...at least I thought it was three.

Crawford/Rabe/Harris make three JUCO's by my count!

Bob, you are really on fire all over the board these days!

Yeah, his TEs caught some passes but they haven't been a main threat. He seems to really like using multiple TEs and H-Backs.

I'm hoping a slight evolution that Kill's offense makes is using their TE a bit more. I just think the state of MN has a lot of kids who can be pretty good TEs.

Is Ra' shede going to play TE next year

My guess is Lair and Rabe will play H-Back and TE while Eure and Hageman will be TEs. Rohr will he H-Back in waiting. Time will tell, but Rabe should provide depth this year at least.

New England Patriots often run two TE sets and run and pass out of them. I could see Kill doing some form of this. Takes away the defenses ability to determine a run or pass formation.
