The rivals site is saying the Gophers just picked up an offensive lineman for 2010.

Does anybody know who this would be??

I was just reading the same thing. Said it's an in state commit. Not sure who either. Seantrel???

I'm guessing it is Gjere.
I think that is probably correct. I was hoping Seantrel, but it says "one of the states top". If it was Seantrel I would think it would have said "the states top".

Actually 2011. Ed Olson's younger brother. That and Rengel is gray shirting (injured knee last year) so he won't arrive on campus until Jan 2010. The Rengel news had been rumored for months.

Wow 2011!!! Thanks for the info. I think a gray shirt for Rengel is a good idea.

sorry, i hear this grayshirt talk a lot, so I just have to ask what it means. thanks.

A player commits to the team but more or less defers enrollment until the spring so they don't count against the scholarship limit. It is somewhat similar to a redshirt except the player is not permitted to practice with the team. Teams are limited in the number of scholarships that they can offer per class so it also affects when the scholarship is counted. I'm not sure on the exact rule but Maresh, Gray & Reeves all count as gray shirts and for whatever reason the three of them joining count as two offers for the 2009 class in the eyes of the NCAA.

wow, when is the last time we had a sophomore verbal?

I don't remember a single instance. From what I've heard he already has D1 size and he was very good on Mahtomedi's line this year.

I know you think that it's cool to post premium info over here, but at least wait until it's released publicly before posting it here. It's crap to do that when people are paying for that info. Not trying to flame, but be fair.

Are you the fu*ing hall monitor? Teacher! You forgot to give us homework!

This was just hashed out like 4 days ago. Go find those posts and STFU.

Dr. Swerve, just because you are getting ripped off paying for info doesn't mean you need to flame here

When Rivals posts information, that makes it public.

when a recruit opens his mouth to give a commitment, that makes it public

Sounds more like a red headed step child that was beat when he was a kid. Now he thinks he has to come up with all this secret info to spread to the masses so everyone will like him.

his brother is 6'6" 270. he is 6'4" 275. if he ends up the same height as his bro and puts on 15-20 pounds in the next couple years--which could come from growing a couple inches-he could be rated high (for whatever that means) and be ready to make an immediate impact.

From all accounts Tommy Boy should end up being much better than his older brother if he continues to develp. At his current size he could be a 300lb FR road grader.

It's called "freedom of speech" and it means that anyone can say what they want... regardless of whether or not they subscribe to gopher illustrated.
