This needs its own thread now:

Unrealistic But Take a Shot:

-Eric Musselman: Not likely to leave USC after one year but doesn't like the B1G travel from CA, so maybe?

-Brian Dutcher

-Tony Bennett

-Bill Self: Tubby Smith Part II?

The realistic list:

1. Darian DeVries-WVU-Probably a reach especially if Iowa opens.

2. Chris Mack-Charleston

3. Ben McCollum-Drake

4. Kyle Smith-Stanford. Also a reach to get a guy to leave after one year. But Stanford in the ACC has to suck.

5. Niko Medved-CSU

6. Leon Rice-Boise

7. Andy Enfield-SMU. Same as Kyle Smith

8. Ryan Odom-VCU

9. Will Wade-Just don't think the U will go there.

10 (tie). The Northern State 2002 stars: Steve Smiley-Northern Colorado/Sundance Wicks-Wyoming.

I hope he already has a coach lined up to avoid whatever happened 4 years ago that lead to Ben Johnson.

I really think we need someone from the unrealistic list (or someone who we'd put on the unrealistic list if their name got out) to inject some real life in to this program.

I haven't put a realistic list of names together, but I would add Alan Huss to your list. Former Creighton assistant who is taking High Point to the NCAA tournament this year. 27-5 in conference play in his 2 years there.

My gut says this is a done deal in Coyles mind anyway. When Coach P was brought in it seemed obvious they had a plan and executed it immediately. Hopefully the same thing here. Say what you want about Coyle, he does reasonably well with coaching searches. I’m in the camp that believes the CBJ hire came from above. That will stay quiet to eternity though.

I like that list. He's fiery, which is what we need. Also Brian Hodgson from Arkansas State. In 2 years, has had back to back 20 plus wins. They lost in the conference championship, but he's from the Nate Oats coaching tree. Runs a fun offense and he gets the most out of his players
