The Illini come to TCF needing a win to become bowl eligible. Our Gophers will be fighting for their bowl lives. I hope the team will be lose and fired up. I also hope our fans will be loud and into it from the opening kick-off on. I think this game could end up being much better than advertised.

Not seeing much of Illinois this season, any special concerns with this seasons Illini? Do we match up well?

Personally, I hope we will be win ;).

Yeah, it'll be a good game for sure. We owe 'em a few for last year.

We'll need boiling hot chili because it's going to be a cold tailgate.

The Illini don't need to win this week. They can wait until next week and just beat Northwester at home.

Minnesota needs to win this week.

**At Soldier Field

Of course, Northwestern IS "Chicago's Big Ten team," so they'll have the huge homefield advantage.

Have not seen a lot of their games but if you look at season statistics both teams are very similar in almost every category.

I think it will be a very fun game and I think it will be high scoring again. Has anyone seen whether the Illini's number 1 running back will play?

From today's ESPN:

STATUS

Doubtful Vaughn (concussion) did not practice Tuesday and coach Bill Cubit said that he is "very questionable" for Saturday's game at Minnesota, Matt Daniels of the News-Gazette reports. (about 1 day ago)

Minnesota needs to win this week.

So the Illini still need a win to become eligible?

This game has "letdown" written all over it. It's is a great chance for the coaches to show us something, to get the players fired up for the "easy" game sandwiched between 4 ranked opponents.

I agree but it is also a big opportunity to take out their frustration on someone. I could see us coming out pissed off and knocking them all over the field. Nothing would surprise me this year, however.

Tough to have a let down when you're on a four game losing streak. I think dropping this one just means you're a bad football team
