NDSU is 8-2 and ranked #25 in the Mid Major Poll. (I know, its the cutest fat girl list)

NDSU lost to #1 Indiana and has been on a roll lately, but obviously everyone expects the gophers to win this game, and Im not trying to say that NDSU will win.
NDSU has Mr Basketball Minnesota Marshall Bjorklund and Redwood falls Mike Felt who is a 3 point specialist.

hope to enjoy this game and see if NDSU can keep it close, they have a good point guard Lawrence alexander and forward Taylor Braun.

last time NDSU beat Minnesota was 1936 (I still don't know how ben woodside and crew weren't able to beat those dan monson teams)

14 is probably a right point spread for vegas. NDSU should be able to keep it under 10, but when betting on basketball it could be a 8 point game and fouls come and boom its 18 then.

Because the woodside team wasn't as athletic, long, or basically as good as the gophers teams.

NDSU is a very good team. If they're hitting 3's they could surprise tonight. Really like Bjorklund. Felt is a legit threat from deep... comes off the bench and finds ways to get open shots. Wright adds a touch of athleticism.. Braun is a go to guy... I like Alexander but he's gotta be better than what he's done so far this year... no seniors getting significant minutes... Bison probably should roam to the title next season, but have a great shot to win the Summit this year.

Gophers *should win*, but this is a good measuring stick game.. NDSU is tough. "Scariest" nonconf home game on Minnesota's schedule this year, IMHO.

GW, your thoughts on the Summit. ... Would you say the auto bid will come down to SDSU, NDSU, or Western Illinois? I'd like to see Jim Molinari get back to the NCAA tourney.

Marshal Bjorklund never won Mr Basketball Minnesota.

good points warrior. Mo Walker Sampson Mbawke in the past would just get the ball down low and walk all over ndsu. Marshall Bjorkland gives ndsu a legit shot not to get crushed down low. Hollins will get matched up with kory brown a defensive guy, but he's only a freshman.

ndsu is 4-2 vs Natalie wolters, so I expect ndsu to beat sdsu for the summit.

Its a shame this game never is on the weekend so the ndsu fans could travel better........but im guessing tubby didn't want that.

Oh was Marshall AP Minnesota player of the year then. sorry.

I'm just hoping for a win against my old school. I already had to go through the torture of dealing with a loss to them in football. Please not Basketball too.

Keep it under 10!?

NDSU should be able to keep it under 10

What would make you think that? I don't think NDSU is that much better than any other team we've beat at the barn, and they haven't been able to keep it under 10.

Yeah you have Bjorklund, sweet, meet Rodney and Trevor. Felt? Inferior to the Hollins back court.

Not trying to be a smarta**, NDSU does have good players at positions for their conference opponents, but when compared to our talent I just don't see it. No reason this shouldn't be a 20+ point blowout.

I'm pretty ignorant on the league overall, but would say it's NDSU v SDSU, with Western Ill & Oakland as dark horses.. for Western Ill, Clark is a stud and they've got a lot of experience on the roster... this is the year for them to get in if they're going to... I'm leaning heavily toward the Dakota schools though.

Gophers by 20, u are giving ndsu a lot of credit that I don't think they deserve at this point. They don't play any zone which is a huge advantage for the gophers and they lack size and athleticism in the post. EE will look athletic to other compared to what ndsu has to offer. Bjorkland is a stud but he will get eaten up by mbakwe, Rodney, mo, and EE. I don't see Braun having more than 10-12 points tonight and if their pg gets into foul trouble ndsu lacks ball handlers. If we lose tonight, I will jump off the tubby bandwagon and he can be fired!

after that. summit is garbage. Captain. yes, big ten vs summit should be a 20+ win, but you got too many Minnesota kids on NDSU team that really wants to show tubby what they can do and its more of a rivalry thanks to the football wins.

There's a mid-major poll?

I fully expect us to come out and show why we are ranked #13 in the country. Anything less and I will be very dissapointed.

Only way this game is close is if NDSU shoots very well from 3 tonight and the Gophers turn it over a lot. Gophers athletic defense will give NDSU a lot of problems and I don't think NDSU can match up with the Gophers at all inside. Maybe NDSU keeps it close for the first 10 minutes but I would think most Gopher fans would be disappointed with anything less than a 20-30 point win tonight for the Gophers.

I'd say NDSU or SDSU are the favorites with WIU and Oakland being darkhorses.

In matchups like this one, my only hope is that no one gets hurt. The W is a forgone conclusion.

At first before I opened up this thread I thought to myself, "how the hell is a NDSU ranked #25 in the nation"...after reading this thread I am relieved and still have some faith in the ranking system. 25th in the nation for mid majors, who cares?

NDSU will run a sagging style of man defense that will accomplish some of what a zone would do. I don't think EE will out athlete any of our bigs...he is bigger and stronger though. NDSU isn't SDSU we do actually have a front court with athletes.

That said the only way NDSU keeps it within 10 is if Bruan is knocking down his jump shots, when he is doing that it really opens up the offense.

Yea I don't think any Gopher fan thinks of NDSU as a rival at all. Honestly I rarely even differentiate between ND, NDSU, SDSU and SD.

Tell that to msum...

OP take the #25 off from the title, it is massively misleading....
