Didn't see this posted. 18/19 tournaments:

Mens: $28mil budget, $864.6mil net gain
Womens: $14mil budget, $2.8mil net loss

I'll give the NCAA credit (not often I'll do that)- they were getting hammered last week about "inequities", and they just took it in the shorts, and vowed to do better. They didn't play the money card at all, but they really could have if they wanted to.

Decades more of existence as a sport.
Basketball is basketball. The only difference is women are playing instead of men. Women will certainly become more skilled and exciting over time, but it would take centuries to close that gap.

The statement suggests The women’s issue is not an economic issue, it is a business issue.

They are technically asking for more subsidies, but what they need is more work to build their product.

FWIW: The original issue was the weight room space that was available was next to the courts, but the coaches turned it down, because other teams would be in the vicinity when they practiced.

Only if men don't become more skilled and exciting as well. Otherwise the gap will remain.
