Just cheat, everyone. Why not?

Go Gophers!!

To say the least, half of the "self-imposed" penalties were from previous seasons. No post season play in 2020-2021? LMAO

Minnesota never recovered from the NCAA's massive slap down 23 years ago. Disparities in how the NCAA treats programs is real.

Based on these light penalties, and North Carolina's a few years ago, Minnesota should re-raise the Clem Haskins era banners and just ignore any push back.

Poor Sean Miller took the brunt of the punishment. He had to wait an entire year before he got a new job.

Here's what pisses me off so much about this issue. I remember how freaking crazy games at The Barn were in the 1990s. Sellouts. Fans jammed in like sardines. Hot. Crazy. Loud. Sweaty. Pain in the ass to find parking. Elation in big wins. Total dejection in close losses. Massive fun.

I suppose you can't blame all the mediocrity since then (at best) on the NCAA kill shot, but that sure had a major impact.

Yup. All you say is correct.

MN Admin has killed this program.

Not only do we self-punish...we self-investigate. The NCAA has never investigated our program or any of our players.

Why not, once UNCheat got away with academic fraud, along with Arizona then Kansas transgressions (which involved the FBI!) NC2A doesn't have any ruling authority. Bring back the Gophers Final Four banner along with Michigan's Fab Five's. Put the banners up and give the NC2A the middle finger.

Can we all agree on one thing as Gopher fans, just this one thing, can we now officially stop pretending the Final Four team never happened? Someone brought up Sam Jacobson in another thread and I didn't know if I was allowed to remember him or not.

Hanging on the wall in my "Gopher Room" I have a painting of the Final Four team that I display with pride.

If this revolting development doesn't give the U sufficient cause to rehang the banners and put the trophies back in the case, they're giving me the implicit green light to do what I've always threatened and planned to do: conduct a Mission Impossible / Ocean's Eleven-style heist of those items and display them on my property.

I'm not completely joking. Any insiders know where they keep those bad boys? Is it a Raiders of the Lost Ark-esque warehouse somewhere? It's time to start the planning process. Anyone who wants in on this operation or could help with information or logistics, PM me.

I can picture the docu-series already

The U does have a Raiders of the Lost Ark- esque warehouse. You can see the Giant doors on the West River Pkwy. It think there around 22nd and pkwy.

I like this idea. We need to bribe a security guard or maintenance worker who has a key. Or get in there somehow.

No jury with common-sense would ever convict us.

So Sean Miller skates away, he dang near gets a good conduct medal. But Rick Pitino with no evidence of wrong doing gets raked over the coals, loses a National Title because his asst coach organized escorts and a shoe guy paid a recruit. But Sean Miller is a victim. How is he supposed to know all of his players are getting paid?

It's in Thomas Edison's hidden laboratory...

I'm in for $10 to the bail fund....But my personal theory is Chris Voeltz stole them on the way out and uses them to wash her car.

To be fair, we're talking about banners. Sewn and printed cloth. I know the original Gopher title banners hold almost as much notoriety as the Lost Ark of the Covenant in this neck of the woods, but we could make do and have some sewn within a day. No one would know the wiser...except for the Indiana Jones types.
