NCAA Football 2011

I made up my own custom cover for the game. Well, I can't take credit for it, someone made an Eric Decker cover for NCAA Football 10, I just edited it so it said NCAA Football 11. Now if I could just replace those Tebow images in the menus...

Just bought the game yesterday... recruiting is really fun.. a feature is you can buy a pipeline state from xbox live.. so if we wanted FL as a pipeline its like 150 mp. It will make recruiting easier.

Overall the juking and everything else is sick!

add me for xbox..

Add me to the list of victors over USC, 14-7 in an ESPN Instant Classic. I tried to add another TD with 20 seconds left, but Troy dropped the ball in the endzone in triple coverage, oh well!

The rosters I downloaded had a few mistakes for us, and again no Rashede, so hopefully after the season starts we'll get some pretty accurate ones released.

There is one thing I found that isn't accurate: The student section on the game is full.

rosters

anyone know where I can download a roster? This is my first time playing this game on the ps3 and when I go to dwnload rosters, nothing shows up? Can someone please walk me through this?

add me to the list of victors with a victory over USC in OT. 29-28 i think

Ahh, Brewster went for 2 in the first overtime to get the win, wow, that's rollin' the dice.

that or I guess we blocked their extra point attempt that would have tied it.

Either way I think the fans stormed the field......how long til that is added into the game?

It won't be. If it was, the NCAA would not license the game. They do not want to encourage it.

its pretty easy

after starting the game, go online. go to team management and then to upload/download roster. enter the name of the person who created the roster and download it. i have the rosters mentioned above, but i've fixed the gophers'. use my name 'tjgesquire'

Apparently "Recruiting Expert" doesn't pay well enough to afford such luxuries as a gaming console developed in the last decade.

You must have far too much time on your hands to follow me that closely. At least you're not taking things personally, buddy. Have you paid up for all your fan sites yet?

Follow you that closely? It doesn't exactly take a lot of brain thrust to read the board and remember what you said (directly to me, nonetheless) in your smattering of 20-odd posts. I just enjoy calling people out on their BS - unless you want to keep up the story that you're a highly-paid, highly-sought-after "Recruiting Expert" who games on a 12-year-old console?

(P.S. I never have, and never will, pay for recruiting information. I don't place much (or any) value on knowing something 5 minutes before the rest of the world does.)

Just because someone has a PS2 doesn't mean they can't afford a PS3. It's always possible that it just might not be that important to some people to have the latest game system.

Or it's possible that they might be scared to death about asking their wife if it would be OK to purchase a new one, so they sit quietly in their underground lair in the basement playing an outdated system.

I have a hard time playing on a console after I purchased a real gaming machine.

Anything's possible, I suppose. But that's not the point, the point is that you can't assume this. I could afford a Rolex if I really wanted one. I could afford a more expensive car. But I'm not interested in impressing anyone. I could have "afforded" the PS3 when it was more expensive, I was only willing to buy it when the price dropped.

So I beat USC as well, 24-21, kind of fortunate really, I got a pick return from Johnny Johnson to start the game and then Royster returned a fumble with under 2 minutes left with USC up by 4 on me to win the game. I was outgained by like 200 yards and still won lol. It was an awesome game, tight one throughout.

The weird game though, is the next week, when I play NIU. I was up 27-7 in the 4th when things got just utterly ridiculous. I give up a long TD pass, whatever, it happens, I thought no biggie, I'll just get it back and run them over. I get the ball back and suddenly I cannot run at all after dominating them for three quarters, so I'm stopped on three downs. They drive right up the field like I didn't exist and score again. Fortunately they missed an XP so it's still 27-20 with like a little less than three minutes left. So they kick it deep hoping to stop me again. I can't remember, but I thought I got one first down, but either way it didn't matter cause then I fumble it up as I was trying to clinch the win...ugh. Of course, they easily tie it up late because suddenly my defense turns into absolute crap after holding them the first three quarters.

Long story short, 4 OTs later I won 55-53 on a MarQueis Gray 2 pt conversion run lol. I would have been utterly ticked off if I had lost that game, it was so maddening haha. I'm not a believer in the whole "CPU cheats" theory that many hold, but for that one game....wow.

I know you can buy "upgrades", but to me that's cheating, and takes the fun out of it. Playing one of the best teams in the game feels rather like cheating, unless it's your team.

Wierd things do happen in this game though.

1) Go ahead and puruse that smattering of 20 posts and find anything involving "highly-paid" or "highly sought-after" and get back to me. I work for a college recruiting firm.
2) I'll stand behind my belief that you're uninformed about how college coaches use online resources for the recruiting process. I was a prick about pointing it out, but I wasn't wrong.
2) I'm also married, so I'm in the underground-lair-playing-outdated-system camp.

You want to talk about frustrating? I had Bennett lose 4 fumbles in the Rose Bowl against Stanford. It took a late pass to Lair to tie the game, and on the next kickoff they fumbled and Theret ran it into the endzone. What does Stanford do? Drive the length of the field to tie the game with 2 minutes left. A pass to McKnight puts me up again, but I had to stop them with 30 seconds left. Just ended up winning.

Go ahead and stand behind it. I've never once said or implied any opinion whatsoever about how coaches use recruiting information. I'm thoroughly uninformed on that topic, and have never indicated anything to the contrary. I have no knowledge on that topic at all, and have never commented on it here or elsewhere.

But good job at proving me wrong on a topic that I've never even discussed!

I remember playing the game on my PC (when that was an option) - I think it was NCAA Football 98 if I remember right. I was running the Gophers and was playing Indiana. I had a 20 point lead late and was trying to run out the clock. I called a running play with a lateral and it was fumbled and recovered by Indiana who then scored a quick TD. No big deal - I got the ball on the kickoff and went with the "get right back on the horse" theory and called the same play. Another fumble, another quick TD for Indiana and my lead was down to 6. Well, certainly the same thing couldn't possibly happen again, right? So I called the same play and sure enough, fumble, Indiana TD, lost the game. That was the last time I played it! I just couldn't take that...

Years later, when I got NCAA 2003, I spent a bit of time learning about it (I never did much of that with the earlier one, I just learned enough to start playing) and I realize now that my RB was probably fatigued (I assume it was Hamner in a depressing reminder of the 97 PSU game) and that's why he kept fumbling it. Of course, 3 fumbles in a row with no contact? That's pretty hard to justify, no matter how tired he was!

This pretty much defines semantics, doesn't it?

What are you talking about? I've never even remotely implied having any knowledge of how coaches use online recruiting information, nor professed as such, nor claimed anything to that effect. Go ahead and find one instance of this, ever. You'll be looking a long time.

I'm not going to take the bait. You're trying to move this discussion to a dissection of small details and absolutes. I don't care enough to go through your scores of posts and find flaws or inconsistencies.

No...rather, I'm defending myself against your false accusations. I've never claimed to know anything about how coaches use online recruiting information, period. It's not parsing words or debating semantics. I've never even remotely discussed it. At all. Period.

It would be akin to me saying something to you like "You're woefully uninformed on the topic of the boyars' role during the reign of Ivan the Terrible," as you have discussed that topic on this forum the same amount as I have discussed coaches' use of online recruiting information.

So, again...congratulations on proving me wrong on something I've never discussed or proclaimed to know anything at all about.

1998 was the first year it was called "NCAA Football". Before that it was "College Football USA" and of course, "Bill Walsh's College Football". I was unstoppable with the 85 Sooners on the old Sega Genesis.

You did claim that if someone had a PS2 instead of a PS3 that it must be because they can't afford the PS3, which is an awfully absurd claim.

Not sure what is going on?

So I'm plugging away on my dynasty and doing all the recruiting stuff.....BUT WHY CAN'T I OFFER ANYONE OR BRING THEM IN FOR VISITS?!?!?!?!?! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
