If anyone got the game, they mess up the Gophers schedule. They have us playing at Iowa, when it should be Iowa playing here. no big deal.

I bought my copy at lunchtime. Played it a little bit. My 3 year old will love the mascot game. Played a game against MTSU, won 6-0. Encountered a bug, and 3rd and inches, I called a play action pass. Weber just took the ball and ran straight for the sideline and out of bounds. Now, I know people have complaints about Weber, but this is ridiculous. I couldn't take over control, he just kept running to the sidelines. I have a CPU vs. CPU game against MTSU running right now.

Watching a CPU vs. CPU game against MTSU. The helmets are WAY too shiny. A nit, I know, but I must pick it.

How is the overall game play? There have been a few issues in the past that have made me want to hit my Xbox with a sledge hammer! (Yet I still buy the new one every damn year!)

How is the run blocking? Do lead blockers (FB's & G's esp.) still run clear past incoming LBs in favor of CB's on the opposite side of the field?

I still have a ps2. I realize it's a dying platform, but I only play this, The Show and Madden. Imagine my dismay when I played my first home game...In the Dome.

Seems like they block the right guys to me, I'm still getting used to it after skipping NCAA 09 and 10. The gang tackling is pretty nice, but aside from the graphics, there isn't really anything that has jumped out at me yet about game play.

One thing I am looking forward to updating my rosters. I won't start my dynasty until I find one up to date with names.

TCF looks pretty nice I must say.

Yes it does, beside the Gophers on the wrong sideline. as it was pointed out a while ago.

Bought the game on the way home from work yesterday. After logging some serious hours on it, i gotta say that the game is awesome. TCF looks ridiculous, the locomotion controls feel fluid, and the ESPN presentation is loooong overdue. Plus, the game features ALL of the Gopher unis. Even Gold on Gold.

The AI has some flaws. I set it up to run a game with 15 minute quarters at MTSU. The Gophers were up by 2 with a first down at the MTSU 40, 2:00 to go and MTSU had no time outs. Instead of running the clock out on the ground, the Gophers threw a pass, which was intercepted. If the AI were even remotely good, it would have kept the ball on the ground.

The next play, MTSU throws a bomb, and the Gophers intercept. Now the Gophers get a second shot to run the clock out. The Gophers have 3rd down and snap the ball with 25 seconds left. Should be one last kneel, right? Even at pee wee level they know that. Nope, it's a pass, stopping the clock, and the Gophers have to punt. MTSU gets the ball at the 20 with 16 seconds left. MTSU throws the ball about 20 yards over the middle (itself not a wise time-protection move), and there are no defenders anywhere near, and it goes 80 yards for a TD.

So, the AI couldn't figure out how to kneel to end a game - twice - and couldn't think to run a prevent defense in that situation. I suppose they will come up with an update for it sooner or later.

One thing I noticed on an instant replay of looking around the stadium (which looks amazing BTW) was that in the ring between decks by the student section, it has the Big Ten Championships on one side, and Big Ten Championships on the other side. No mention of the National Champs teams. Also the one towards the actual location of the home bench shows us a BT Champs for like 5 of the past six years 2004-2009 or something like that. Oh well, overall though they did a very nice job, much better than the crap fake stadium they gave us last year.

This is a little complaint - the TCF crowd does a "Rah Rah Rah for Ski-U-Mah" cheer (which we don't actually do, it would be cool if we had something like that.) But they pronounce "Ski" as in "skiing", instead of pronouncing it as "sky".

They show the band marching onto the field, it would be cool if they showed the band doing the Rotating M. Too much to ask, I'm sure. :D

Prob worth sending these to EA Sports as suggested fixes for future copies.

They can easily send updates to XBox 360 and PS3 owners. PS2 owners will probably be stuck. I'd like to trust the AI to at least make sane choices. When I start a dynasty, I will control things myself, but there will be a great number of other games that the AI will be simulating. When it's kneel down time, the AI should be smart enough to figure that out.

I do like that the game has the option to use actual local weather conditions. It didn't seem all that accurate though. I played a game at TCF, and it was mostly cloudy in the game. My house is less than 3 miles from TCF and there were only a few clouds in the sky, can't imagine it was too different at TCF. Started a game at MTSU, it was past 11pm central time, and it showed sundown at their stadium, it should have been pitch black. But it was cool that time actually passed that that it was pitch black before long.

Pardon my spelling but I did not notice Rasheede Haageman in the game, if I did what position and number is he?

That's really strange, have never seen that in the past. They must have tweaked something and messed up the late game AI. That needs to be fixed, no doubt.

If I didn't know better, I would swear the AI was passing because it was trying to beat the point spread. :D

Just picked it up on my way home from shift

I just picked up the game on my way home from shift and the first thing I do is go check out the roster and, like everyone else I'm sure, noticed that it is all kinds of messed up. QB for example, they have Tom Parish and J.D. Pride but no Moses Alipate. NO RA'SHEDE?!?!?!?! COME ON!!!!!

Basically every position needs to be reworked other than RB....and maybe FB if you don't think Rengel is going to stay with the team.

My favorite part of this whole thing though......is there is NO Seantrel Henderson to be found

*SMACK!!!

Anyway, I do have a couple questions. I just got my PS3 a few months ago and have never played NCAA on this platform. I noticed Zales said he is going to wait till he can update his rosters....how is this done? Is it through Playstation live? Something you have to pay for? ANY insight on this would be greatly appreciated before I go in and start moving players, adding players, deleting players!!!!!! Thanks!!!!

Within the next few days, we should be able to download updated rosters, with names and stats.

If the person doing the roster knows our roster well, they'll know they're missing. But I think most just look for number and position matches and go with it. You might have to create Alipate and Hageman yourself if you want them in there, or just tweak an existing player to represent those two instead of who they are right now.

I haven't really looked through our roster to know how many errors are in it. But I'll tell you what, if Duane Bennett is an impact player for us, we may be in good shape lol.

I'd like to replace the cover art with one with a Gopher player. I've heard that people have created PDF files with replacements. If anyone finds or creates a Gophers cover art, please let me know.

A few problems with the roster (from what I can remember - my list is at home, I'm at work):

1) Yep, no Hageman.
2) Glickstein is in there twice - once at o-line (Center?), once at DT.
3) They either left out Michel or Gjere. There's a left OT in there with size like Gjere, but Michel's number.
4) As mentioned, the QBs are messed up.
5) Yep - Rengel is in there. As is Maresh (not surprising - doubt they knew he wouldn't qualify).
6) Tinsley is an OLB.
7) No Christyn Lewis. No Kyle Henderson. There is a Nathan Tow-Arnett (not sure he'll see the field in real life - at least, not beyond special teams).
8 ) Not sure Andy Brinkhaus will see the field much, either.

Any Gophers with a PS3 who wanna play online with some guys from Scout in the Big East (for fairness) PM me.

Really?

I still have a ps2. I realize it's a dying platform, but I only play this, The Show and Madden. Imagine my dismay when I played my first home game...In the Dome.

Really?!? I was going to pick up a PS2 copy this weekend, but obviously won't if the PS2 version doesn't include TCF.

Check out the forum at Operation Sports: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football-rosters/ for rosters, there should be some out in the next day or two. The community rosters are generally the player names, equipment fixes, player rating adjustments, and missing players.

PS3 Community Roster Thread
Xbox 360 Community Roster Thread

There are some people who say they have completed rosters available, but generally the community rosters are better for dynasty play.

There is also an EA employee that works on stadiums who posts in the NCAA football forum. I know every year he asks for fixes to stadiums in the game and they try to accommodate as many tweaks as they are allowed.

Couldn't believe it. Played my first game against MTSU, Stoudemire ran back 2 kicks for TDs. I wasn't even going to play another game, but I wanted to see the stadium, so I advanced to the next week, the next thing I see is the sweeping camera view of the dome. Kick in the seeds.

Apparently "Recruiting Expert" doesn't pay well enough to afford such luxuries as a gaming console developed in the last decade.

With the PS3, they can send out updates. With the PS2, what comes on the disk is pretty much what you're stuck with. They could at least have put in a generic horseshoe is it was really all that much work to take the stadium created for the PS3 and the 360 and put it on the PS2.

The PS2 is still a good game system, but it's going to be the poor cousin to the current systems. I might get a PS2 one of these days, because there is so many good old games that can be had for cheap.

hahaha. Just beat USC in 6th overtime, 48-42.
