NCAA 1st Round: Gophers v Western Kentucky (12-5-24)

Anyone else cut out of work early to watch? I fear this won't be as easy as some are expecting since they are playing Western Kentucky in Kentucky.

Given the season, it would be kind of fitting if every tournament match for the Gophers ended up being a 5 setter. (I really hope this one isn't though.)
 

Glad they seem to have righted the ship. Things were looking a little leaky there for a while.
 

Good first two sets. Dang. They got the yips and let WKU have a 7-point run to win set 3. Regroup Gophers.
 

Where is the Gopher block today? This is starting to feel like a reverse sweep in the making.
 


We've seen this movie before. All the weaknesses showing up at the same time.
 



I think this is called "Winning Ugly," but a win is a win. WKU gave the Gophers a lot of points via service errors. Gophers were out hit. The Gophers seem to get tight. Maybe, thinking about 'what if we lose to a mid-major.' Hopefully, Gophers will put this behind them and play a great match tomorrow.
 



It definitely felt like there was a bit of panic / playing tight. On the bright side, they didn't play their best and won. Going to need much better tomorrow.

High odds tomorrow that, IF they can pull the upset on Kentucky's court, it would likely be a 5 setter that goes extra points.
 

They really let that WKU freshman hitter do whatever she wanted, also their star player Cox started getting better late in the match and if it went five who knows what would've happened.
