Nathan Roy Commits to Gophers!

Huge... in more ways than one. His other finalists were Michigan State and UCLA.

His offer list is impressive

Ohio State, Penn State, USC, Oklahoma, wisconsin, Tennessee, Miami, Michigan State, UCLA, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse

More highly rated than Faalele or Dunalp even. Potentially can be the anchor of the OL in a few years. Awesome pickup.

Welcome to GOLD COUNTRY

The wisconsin fan comments on Twitter are hilarious

'We didn't offer'
'New staff Didn't prioritize...overrated'

LMAO that sounds like an indictment of the wisc staff, not the staff of Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma etc

The original offer was by the old staff so it’s hard to say if it was still commitable with the new staff. But he did attend their junior day several months after Fickell was hired. So gotta believe there was still some interest.
4* and looking at that offer list I also have trouble believing Wisc would lose interest.

Outside of off the field, injury situations… this looks like a guy almost any school takes if possible…

Just curious, is his last name pronounced "Roy" as in Rogers, or "Wah" as in Patrick?

Monster commit! Gophers going to work behind enemy lines! wisconsin misses out on the top 4 players in state, and only gets 3 of the top 10.

As a Gopher's fan, when you look at this list of recruit commitments out the state of Wisc for 2024 you have to have a huge smile. It doesn't get much better then to see how Fickell got his ass handed to him in terms of his own in-state recruits in Year 1. There has to be a little frustration in the fanbase.
