Based on what? I've never understood this entitlement mentality around here. Other than a few brief fits and spurts, Minnesota has been a mid- to bottom-tier Big Ten basketball program for 30 years. Hoping for a Big Ten championship is great, but "expecting" it? Again, based on what? That is only slightly less ridiculous than saying one "expects" the Gophers to compete for a Big Ten championship in football.

Entitlement? Expectation. Different animals.

Paying a coach $2 mill cool, top notch coach, one of the best conferences and schools around, great venue.

I'd guess most fans on here were interested in the answers to those questions and probably more-so than the answers to the questions that you apparently want the answers to. There are times to question Myron (along with many MN sports writers and writers in general) but I'm not sure this was one of them.

Like I said Myron, I did not read Tubby's response to your questions since your questions did not interest me. I skip articles of writers that don't inform, entertain or enlighten. I post here to support Gopher sports and perhaps papers will read and consider or reconsider their tone and which writers they want to pay...

No, I don't. There are 12 teams in the conference, so mathematically, a reasonable expectation is to win one every 12 years. Given the fact that we are at best the 6th or 7th best team in the conference basically every season, even that is expecting too much.

Goals are not expectations. Check Webster's for the difference. My goal is to retire as a millionaire, but I don't expect that to happen.

Please point out where I'm defending Tubby. And in the 25 years before Tubby arrived, we finished better than 6th exactly 4 times, and never better than 4th. And now you're equating finishing better than 6th with "contending for a conference title"? You're not very intelligent, are you?

Say, we have a coach named Joe (instead of Tubby) whose record exactly matches Tubby's at the U. Would there be so many asking for Joe's neck?

This type of non-sense hurts your cause. Tubby somehow has decided to give you enough to attack. Stick to character issues. That probably is the best way to prove your point, whatever that is, and get what you want, whatever that is.

I can understand if one argues about getting enough from Tubby for the compensation paid. But, Tubby getting by because he is not Monson?

What's the status of both Ralph Sampson III and Trevor Mbakwe?
