my God! anyone been following some of the B10 expansion talk on any Big East boards?

If the whole premise for expanding is to earn more money from a football championship game, and I haven't heard of any other reason, than it only makes sense that the conference would spend some money on studies to figure out which college provides them the best leverage in the NYC cable market negotiations. Anyone who thinks that things like tradition will get in the way of Money is sorely misunderstood. Exibit A would be that the LBJ game isn't played every year anymore.

The exposure/money from a championship game is secondary. It would only end up being worth 1 to 1.5 million per year per school and would not bring in enough to cover splitting the TV money 12 ways instead of 11. The true reason for expansion is to add a team (or teams) which will give the Big Ten control of large TV markets that currently do not carry the Big Ten Network on their basic package.
