Like Some Guy said, once you get to team 5 the gap between the teams is tiny. You have to put teams somewhere but they are pretty interchangeable from week to week.
Yeah the gap is narrow I would say between 5-14, but dropping them down to 7 or 8 seems about right to me. Minnesota remaining at 10 also seems about right given they were on a bye.

There could be some SEC level instability this upcoming weekend!

Illinois at Oregon will be a big test for Fatty!
Nebraska is going to get popped at OSU!
Washington could beat Indiana
PSU @ Whiskey could be tough
MSU @Michigan is a toss up
Iowa will win at NW
Does anyone care about Rutgers at USC?

And of course we all know, damn near anything could happen at Homecoming in Minnesota!

Here’s hoping Perich keeps us from perishing again!

Rutgers was everyone's offseason favorite pick to have a big season and it's very possible they only win 1 or 2 conference games. They're probably going to be underdogs in their remaining games, other than maybe @Maryland.

I’d agree with that 100%

I think this is a very good stab at ranking them, Noel.

I know Fleck is a huge proponent of insisting that the team is laser-focused on their next opponent only (and I agree with him), but as a mere fan I love the fact that 3 of our remaining five games are against teams with higher rankings than the Gophers, and two of those games are against teams in the Top 4.

This proves that there is still a lot to play for, and there are very worthwhile and attainable goals in front of us, well within reach. I have to say, I'm beginning to like the new, expanded B1G conference.

I hate it. We are halfway through the season an unbeaten teams don’t control their own destiny for a big ten title

Noel is a confirmed dink. No way we should be lower than 4! /s

As long as there is a B1G game left on the schedule there is a LOT to play for. Beat Stinking Maryland, Gopher!!!

That is the same problem I've had with the national championship. It seems patently unjust that any sports team be in a situation where they could never lose and not be champions at the end. I'm not aware of any championship anywhere in the sports world other than FBS football where that is the case (other than teams in other college sports who are on some kind of temporary postseason ban).

I get where you are coming from but it is pretty rare that an undefeated team truly worthy of the National Championship wouldn't get it.

There was the UCF thing in 2017 but they beat like one ranked team all year and their National Champion claims were pretty foolish. The level of the teams you are beating does matter. A power 4 schedule is going to be significantly more difficult than a G5 schedule.

The next three weeks are the season. Win 2 of 3, get bowl eligible, and roll the dice the last two weeks.

Need to win 2 of 3

Only one of the three is home.

Maryland game probably the most pivotal game of the seaso, IMO because it’s the only 50/50 home game left

As some of us do the annual fall reminisce on the unlikely ‘87 Twins we discussed the story of the state champion ‘87 Willmar Cardinals baseball team, an even more unlikely story. They went 7-9 in the regular season with a .200 team batting avg. They did play in the tough CLC. Anyway, they weren’t anything special early on, were the sixth seed in the regionals, beat very good Hutch, Prior Lake, Mankato West teams. Went on to state tourney, slayed Park Cottage Grove in the semifinal, and in the championship game we’re losing by 4 runs going into the seventh, destroyed the Hopkins pitcher for 5 come from behind runs in the seventh

This was back in the A and AA days. An awesome story and what sports is all about. You just never know how a team will come together and make a run.

Crazy that the number 14 team in the big ten beat one of the two unbeaten SEC teams

Just curious why a Michigan team with the same record, tougher schedule, and a head to head win would be ranked 4 spots lower?
Power rankings usually factor in how a team is playing currently and currently Michigan is on a definite downward trajectory coming off back to back loses and not looking good in either game.

But really you could just put the #5 and then list the majority of the rest of the conference in that spot since they are all basically equal.
