I have a picture that you all NEED to see! how do i post a .JPG on this site? I cant seem to get the attachment fuction to work.

Just upload it to imageshack.us or something and then link to it or use the IMG tags.

Why do I get the feeling this picture will be a huge letdown?

If the picture is already located somewhere online, just click the mountain icon in the reply and insert the url in the box. If it is on your computer and not hosted anywhere online, simply upload it to flickr, imageshack, etc. and then follow the same procedure I outlined. You would have to create an account at one of the picture hosting sites.

Just wanted to comment that I really like your signature. I forgot about that guy.

I like the part were it says, "buy a drink and royce will buy you another one free!"

Now im pretty sure that he is not 21...

It's on his facebook page. Didn't someone post this a couple weeks ago?

Good luck at UCLA.

Or maybe you should try Anoka Ramsey Community College, if they would take you.

It's 18+ so it looks like cokes and bottled water all night long.

Oh my - if he's trying to get back on the team this is not the way to do it

how does this affect his playing status?

A couple of our local media were Twittering about going to the party.

Oohhh .. wouldn't that be special?

With any luck any of the current team will have enough sense to stay away.

I saw that too. I'm not sure if it says they're going though. Just like the old saying that nothing good happens after midnight, nothing good will probably happen at this party.

This was Doogie.

You going? RT @RandBall By all accounts, the Royce White birthday bash at Aqua on Saturday is definitely legit and happening.

how does this affect his playing status?

If he's hoping to get back on the team, then this could impact his playing status in a number of ways.

First, this could be an NCAA violation. A nightclub publicly using a college athlete to promote an event is against NCAA code. Not sure if this rises to that level, but it is likely close. I'm sure the NCAA doesn't look to kindly on a the phrase "Aqua Nightclub Presents...Royce White's Birthday Bash" and the use of his image on the picture.

Secondly, if indeed we're talking about alcohol drinks here, it is literally against the law. I know underage college kids drink, but those that get caught - especially athletes - usually have a price to pay for that. Sometimes it is a small suspension. Given that he may want to come back to the team, this might not be a great idea to publicize an underage drinking bash.

It also could show the Gopher coaching staff that this guy has not gotten it through his head that he might be better off laying low for awhile, especially if he is trying to get back on the team.

There are other things that make this not a great idea, but these are a good start.

Some of you haven't been to college in a while. My organization in college threw parties all the time at clubs to raise money. They were all 18+ which means you need ID and a wristband to buy drinks. Royce isn't technically using his basketball ability to make money so there's no NCAA violation. He's not even enrolled in school so there's 0 problem with him making money in any legal way, as long as its not through basketball. Athletes throw parties all the time, sometimes with their name on it. There's nothing in that flyer that says basketball or even that Royce is profitting from this (although he probably is, but more power to him). This is nothing new and certainly nothing unique to Royce White. Down at Ill Jeffery Jordan throws or at least used to throw parties all the time with his name attached to it while still on the team. There's no reason this should affect his playing status IMO. I have friends who aren't athletes that sponser parties and put their name on it because they know a lot of people and can bring a lot of business in. You get 50% of the money from the door and the club gets all the bar money. Say you get 400 people in at $20 a pop and thats a quick $4k you made with minimal work.

You really think the NCAA would allow Royce White to earn $4k from a party that a bar is sponsoring by using his name and image in promotional literature? I say no way that is legal by NCAA standards.
