Just jumped off about a 5 minute call with the Coach. Nothing earth-shattering, but here are a few notes:
On Kilgore officially being named the starter last night:
"He won the job. He was more consistent throughout camp, which you would expect him to be because he was here at spring practice. I just felt more comfortable with Logan from a knowledge standpoint of what we want to do offensively."
On Kilgore in general:
"He's still young, he's never played a Division 1 game. We have to be careful in how much we do and what we're doing. He's a postive person, he's a good leader. He can make most of the throws we want him to make. He's not the dynamic runner that Dwight is but he's a good runner, so I think we can continue to run our offense the way we had planned on running it with Dwight."
"He understands the offense. There are going to be growing pains."
On more people watching his program because of 10 wins last year and a Big 10 team coming in.
"I hope people are starting to take notice of our program nationally. I know they are locally here in the state and in the south...anytime you get a chance to be on national television it's an opportunity to showcase your program."
