I think Mullen would be a great hire. Quite frankly, that shocks the heck out of me.

I will say, I think it is a tad harder getting an athlete into Minnesota then to Mississippi State, but he appears to be a very good coach.

Two finalist, it will be interesting to see who was in the "fluffer" spot today while the real guy was agreeing to the deal today. That guy is going to feel used. Doogie has it, and the basketball guy at GI has it, even Kim's dad SF24 has it, they must feel giddy while the rest of us wait to see who was "punking" us. In the end must be the one they really wanted though.
 


There will be only one "finalist". The stupid state law that caused the U to name only one Presidential finalist applies in this hire, too. The new coach will be offered and the other cursory finalists will remain unnamed and unoffered. We will never know, past Dungy, who was interviewed or offered unless the interviewee decides to come clean and possibly lose his current job. That's not happening.
 


Press Conference Tuesday or Wednesday?

Wednesday if the details need to be hammered out with the lawyers and the agent, this will likely be when the official news conference is held.

Like I said I have already been poked, and punked on the TC thing and Brady Hoke. Hoke was interested but pulled out or was tossed out. I'm not putting anything else out there, the only thing I heard from a newspaper guy is presser likely Wednesday, that's not saying much. No I do not have the name.

The thing about these rumors is that we have no idea if we are getting the information second-hand or tenth-hand. A rumor, like a chain, is only as strong as its weakest link, it's like playing Telephone.
