More trouble for Jameis?

The stall tactic begins

I don't know who's the biggest pea-brain in this mess, Anus Jameis or Jimbo Fisher. Neither one of them are very bright. Fisher might be the dumber of the two. His star QB is walking all over & making a fool of him (and FSU), and Fisher continues to look like Gomer Pyle with every comment he makes. I used to respect him, seemed like a decent guy, but not any longer.

Over 900 items signed by Winston now authenticated but he told Jimbo he didn't accept any money so Jimbo's good.

Literally LOL'd at this. Isn't it insane that after all Anus Jameis has done he has been suspended for a grand total of ONE game. Jimbo is just as bad as Jameis!!!

With you on Jimbo being a major part of the problem as well. I mean his response to the autograph thing is that we now need to protect the players by not having them sign any autographs. He is trying to act like Jameis signed 900 things and those fans just happened to take them in to get authenticated.

This isn't about signing something for a fan or a kid after practice, this is about going somewhere and signing a crap load of things and almost certainly getting paid to do it. The NCAA needs to come down hard on this program but they probably won't. Very clear that they have sold their souls to try and get another NC out of Winston before he destroys everything around him with is stupid actions.

At some point doesn't the head of the University have to step in and tell his athletic department to stop being the laughing stock of the country?

Yep, right after back to backs.

No. There are a lot of people getting rich by being laughing stocks in this world.

Sad as that is you are probably right on with this one. I would not be shocked at all if they suddenly start cracking down on things when/if they are no longer part of the playoff picture. There is so much money at stake that they are willing to play dumb and ride their star QB as far as they can even if they look like fools in the process.

This kid is as dumb as a person can be. Who willingly blows off the mentoring attempts from a fellow Heisman winner and one of the most successful and popular athletes in history? Jameis is headed for a life that ends up in the gutter.

I don't know if there is a lot of credibility to this. Why does Bo need to speak out about this? Seems like piling on. My take is that Bo likes to be in the news. Even if rebuffed, someone who is truly trying to help out doesn't get his agent to run to Jim Rome over this.

Bo was a great athlete but his legacy is a creation of marketing. ESPN's awards aside, he is not one of the top 100 NFL running backs. I know his health slowed him down but he played only 4 years and never had a 1000 yards in a season. Also was a good but not great baseball player. I think a compelling argument can be made that Deion Sanders had a significantly better two sports career. At least he was dominant in one sport.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Somehow, the whole "Bo knows" stuff has always bothered me.

Back to the thread, I agree that Winston is an idiot. That said I wonder why these small transgressions (crab legs, yelling sexual crap, signing autographs) are taken more seriously by the media than sexual assault allegations.

TECMO Bowl disagrees with you

Anus Jameis has the talents that almost all of us can only dream of. Too bad he has moosh for brains.

Because he won a Heisman. Tim Tebow took more public criticism for kneeling after touchdowns than many players take for some of the more serious transgressions you allude to.

But he was a Heisman candidate when the sexual assault stuff broke. In a way, I guess it is cumulative but he seems to be getting heat for the smaller things without much discussion of the crime that could/should have put him in jail.

Tebow's criticism was caused by the huge amount of attention he got as a college athlete coupled with the fact that the attention continued even though he was clearly a sub-standard NFL quarterback.

The fact that the sexual assualt was swept under the rug by the University and the Tallahassee PD is an absolute travesty. Jameis should be in an orange jumpsuit right now not being reviewed by FSU and the NCAA as to the status of his eligibility.

Florida State Creminoles - I like how that sounds.

FSU has become the "new" Miami U football ghetto.

Jameis must have been signing for a lot of kids that day, all out of the goodness of his heart.

At least that's what Jimbo thinks (if he's really that dumb), or wants us to think (in case we're all wet behind the ears).

After this year is over, Jimbo will move on to another big buck position and FSU will pay the price.

He is the new Pete Carroll

Just sitting here watching the Florida State v. Notre Dame game. I guess I'm obsessed with this Jameis Winston thing, cause I can't let it go.

Can Jimbo Fisher be this sick? I wonder if he has daughters. I wonder if he feels that women who get wasted in the presence of virile athletic men deserve to get raped? I wonder if he thinks that women are only good for fuching? How can he live with himself? It seems to me that the only way he could still look in the mirror is if he truly believes the girl who Winston allegedly raped is a liar. Fisher must not believe in Karma. Cause if Winston did rape that girl, and Fisher is complicit with the University in making sure that Winston gets them another Championship, something very bad is going to happen to Fisher or his family in the not so distant future. I've never not seen someone get their just deserts.

He'll feel all those things once the season is over.

"At least 13 football players have been implicated in a string of wild public shootouts with CO[SUB]2[/SUB]-powered BB and pellet guns, causing thousands of dollars in property damage, endangering bystanders and eliciting a police response. Yet until the most recent case — a previously unreported shootout in June that caused such a commotion that a sheriff’s helicopter was called in to search for suspects — none of the episodes led to charges, even though elsewhere in Florida suspects as young as 12 have been arrested for doing the same things."

You wonder if at some point any of this will finally get someone to take a good hard look at the old Talahasee PD because it is clear they are pretty much turning a blind eye to anything involving football players. I know that a certain degree of protection takes place all over the country between campus police and the sports teams but it sure seems like they are taking it to a whole new level down there. I mean a player steals a scooter and they question the mental stability of the owner to remember if he loaned it to the player?
