Field conditions were similar…
Hockey game also was also… you knew who would win and it was not an exciting game.I think this comes down to being cooped up indoors during the holidays versus going outside and enjoying the weather in late May and early June.
College football is like 1,000 x more popular in the United States than hockey.I think this comes down to being cooped up indoors during the holidays versus going outside and enjoying the weather in late May and early June.
I'd be willing to bet a meaningless bowl game by two second tier teams would struggle to get 1M viewers if they played it today. I don't care how much more popular CFB is than the NHL!College football is like 1,000 x more popular in the United States than hockey.
Yeah, I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, I'm in my mid 40's, and I can honestly say I've never watched an entire hockey game before. I've tried, and I've seen it on in the background at bars and stuff, but that game is boring as watching paint dry. You could offer me $1000 to watch a single game and I'd still refuse. It's just that boring to me.College football is like 1,000 x more popular in the United States than hockey.
Lie detector test determined, that was a lie.Yeah, I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, I'm in my mid 40's, and I can honestly say I've never watched an entire hockey game before. On the other hand, I'm trying to get into these USFL games I see on TV on the weekends now. I don't recognize any players or anything, but I'll watch football just to watch football, regardless of the teams.
No, it wasn't. But how convenient of you to think you can read my mind.Lie detector test determined, that was a lie.

Hockey is an electric live sport. Arguably, the best spectator sport live.Yeah, I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, I'm in my mid 40's, and I can honestly say I've never watched an entire hockey game before. I would watch any 2 hour sporting event for 500 bucks an hour.I buy that it wasn't a lie.
Different sport, but I would need to be paid to watch a full MLS match. My price might not be $1000 for soccer, but for sure well into triple digits, so a grand doesn't seem outrageous.
To each their own.
My price would be similar for a USFL game.
I'll agree. I went on a date to a hockey game and had a great time - although we still left early. I was having fun but the girl I was with was mad because the Wild were getting beat like 6-1 and so we left. But what I experienced was nothing like the boredom of watching it on tv.Hockey is an electric live sport. Arguably, the best spectator sport live.
I don't consider myself loaded, but I am single and have been doing software for a while now. A grand doesn't move the needle for me, at least not enough to suffer through a hockey game on tv. If I saw a grand on the ground, would I pick it up? Absolutely. I pick up spare change I see on the ground.I would watch any 2 hour sporting event for 500 bucks an hour.
Anyone who says they wouldn’t is lying (or loaded)
You need to have a few kids and you’ll watch a hockey game for a grandI don't consider myself loaded, but I am single and have been doing software for a while now. I just find hockey on tv to be THAAAAAAAAAAAAT boring.
Me too. I sometimes see a basketball story on Bleacher Report and I have to pause and think, "Is the new season starting, or is the previous season still going?".but sorry by June 15th, I am little checked out of the winter sports.
Not the "k" word! I'd probably watch it at a bar just to get out of the house!!! All my friends' social lives (except one) went to sh*t after having kids. (Only 1 friend of mine continued to act single and have fun.)You need to have a few kids and you’ll watch a hockey game for a grand
My rate would be similar. Plus a 6-pack. A different kind of loaded would really help for some events.I would watch any 2 hour sporting event for 500 bucks an hour.

On top of atmosphere, football live has one advantage that you get to see the entire field.Similarly, I have zero interest in ever attending a football game live, but I'll watch all day long on TV.
LOL!Plus a 6-pack. A different kind of loaded would really help for some events.
Good reply. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm trying to be argumentative here. This actually seems like civil discussion between differing points of view in this thread. On top of atmosphere, football live has one advantage that you get to see the entire field.
I don't much like how football is shown on TV, it's so ball focused you see a guy run and just see him get more yards and the excitement builds from there... that's fun, but live you see the WR is open, you sometimes see that the blitz is going to work before it happens, that the RB made a good cut and there's room in front of him.
It's a different experience and additionally I like seeing how the coverage looks, how well the lines are pushing and etc. That's nigh impossible to see on TV outside extreme cases.
I am the same. The only rules I claim to know are high-sticking and icing...sometimes.Yeah, I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, I'm in my mid 40's, and I can honestly say I've never watched an entire hockey game before. No you watched it because Wisconsin's men's ice hockey program is in the shitter and their women are actually good.I watch NCAA women's ice hockey because there is far more skating, passing, and play-making than the NFL or even NCAA men's ice hockey.
The Final Four games were very exciting.
