Monmouth Basketball is redefining the bench game as we know it

I saw these guys on ESPN the other night. Fun stuff and the team has some really nice wins this year. I'm going with their Michelangelo tribute for my favorite move.

The fact they know Michelangelo and some of his work is laudable by itself. The creativity of honoring it is truly amazing. Now let's go for a piece of the Last Judgment. Perhaps the martyrdom of St. Bartholomew. That would be awesome!

"MAYBE THEY SHOULD LEARN HOW TO REBOUND/SHOOT FREE THROWS/PLAY DEFENSE INSTEAD OF CELEBRATING ALL THE TIME!!!!"

Or learn that only aholes post in all caps. Oh wait, they probably already know that.

This is great!
Why presume Minnesota fans wouldn't like it?

Its a natural response because when things get exciting, its common to show the bench celebrating.

As I tried to imply (perhaps unsuccessfully) in my previous post, I think it's quite likely that after the first bad/close loss, someone would comment about how we would have won if the players took the game more seriously instead of thinking up new celebrations, as though it's not possible to do both. But that's probably not just a Minnesota thing; I could see any grumpy, curmudgeonly sports fan saying something like that.

Ah yes, so true! Killjoys are everywhere.
Of course I suspect we are on the same page thinking that these kids are probably MORE attuned to the game through this playful engagement.

Seems a bit grim Holy Man. How about they get the cheerleaders in on some Rubens instead? :)
