Parski:
It is just a fun thing we do for a contest on picking the winner based on the point spread established by betting experts.
Let's say we have a game like today:
8:00 PM (215) GEORGIA TECH AT (216) VIRGINIA TECH -7.5
Georgia Tech is playing at Virginia Tech tonight at 8 p.m. Virginia Tech is favored by 7.5 points.
If you pick VA Tech -7.5, VT must win by 8 or more for you to get a win for that game. If VT wins by less than 8, you get a loss for that game.
In other words, GA Tech is leading by 7.5 points at the opening kickoff.
If you pick GA Tech You would say GA Tech +7.5, meaning that if GA Tech loses by less than 8, or wins the game, you get a win for that game.
Does that help?
