MNF Ticket Policy

Doing a ticket exchange would be 1,000 times more chaotic than doing general admission. If you had a month or more to map Metrodome seats to TCF seats, prepare tickets and distribute them, maybe you could do it. General admission just isn't that unusual a thing. Find a section, move all the way down, and sit within the stripes designating your seating area.

OK but you have on line option

Wouldn't work only because you know there are season ticket holders who don't live in the TC and they'd scream bloody murder if they missed out on the game b/c they couldn't get to the Cities until Monday.

and you open phone lines and have tix at will call for anyone who calls in - plus keep 500 tix on have at TCF will call for any outliers

There are already people who are flying in for the game who are complaining about the game being moved to TCF. This is utterly irrational, because if the game wasn't at TCF, it would be being played out of the state, and they would have plane tickets and hotel reservations, but no game to attend.

Some more details came out in the Vikings press conference:

1. Apparently the temporary stands will not be brought in, however the west end zone area will become a 3,000 person standing room section. Apparently, they say they can get 54,000 into TCF bank that way, still leaving about 9,000 out of luck. (Vikings reported the Metrodome was sold out for the game)

2. They have been phone surveying season ticket holders of record, and are feeling confident there will be enough no shows that everybody who wants in (and has a ticket) can get in. At this point there is no plan to on sale more tickets, unless they get a LOT returned before the stadium opens.

3. They are working to have The Barn open as a place people can go to warm up, possibly simulcast the game in there, particularly if they go into an overflow situation at TCF Bank.

4. Parking lots being cleared, students still have exams, so parking will be at a premium. Metro adding more busses that night to service the stadium, and they will be doing park and ride service from the state fairground. No plans for tailgating or the usual pre game activities.

5. They admit the general admission plan isn't ideal, and if they had 6 weeks instead of 6 days they might have been able to recall all the tickets, and issue new (reserved seat) tickets. They are counting on fans to be courtesous to one another, but are beefing up security in case that plan doesn't work.

6. Gophers suite holders have right of first refusal to BUY their suites from the Vikings for the game. And suite holders that turn down the purchase offer will have their suite loaned out to a Vikings Suite holder. There are about half as many suites in TCF Bank as Metrodome, so they plan on trying to get the suite holders to pair up and share suites for the game, as the TCF Bank suites are larger. Suite holders that cannot be accomodated in a suite will be given preimum seating somewhere else. I assume that to mean the indoor club area that was already mentioned above.

If you can't get into the game, they won't be doing refunds on the spot, but will have fan relations tables setup to start the refund process. Refunds for over capacity admission refusals will go to the ticket bearer, but only to the face price printed on the ticket. They somehow plan on upping the number of admission lanes from about 60 for Gophers games to at least 85, and possibly 100 if they can figure a way. The barcode scanners will be used to monitor capacity so they can start to close down admission lanes if they start to reach capacity.
