You can't slow them down.
The way to do this is attack the newbie QB. Lots of pressure, lots of new looks on defense, blitz from unusual places. Also, stuff the run game in order to get them in third-and-long as much as possible.
You can't count on coverage alone. Those receivers will beat most anybody.
A rough model would be the Gophers' defensive game plan against Washington State in the Holiday Bowl a few years back. Not that plan, necessarily, but that mindset.
