Ok, kick them off the team. Problem, meet solution.

Good for them. Perhaps they have a few stars that would like to transfer up river a bit.

Michigan States secondary went on strike for the last two minutes of their game.

Gee, I sure hope the rest of the SEC does the honorable thing and doesn't use this for any negative recruiting.

Weeellllll..... when you think of being classy, the SEC immediately comes to mind. [emoji12]

Good luck signing black players after that. And you're an idiot if you think the kids striking to protest problems are the problems themselves

Good idea. That will de-escalate the situation for sure

So, the solution to the the alleged problem is to not show up and do what you were brought to the University of Missouri to do.
Gary Pinkel's message should be clear, show up to class, show up to practice, play your hearts out, or be dismissed and off scholarship. The other matter will be handled.

Yes, that is the solution. And if you are a recruit; cross them off your list. Oh and by the way; the PLAYERS chose the University based on what they thought it would be, if the University can't or won't live up to that the players should use what leverage they have to correct the situation....assuming they find the issue agregious enough.

Gary Pinkel's message should be, let's all get together and make a decision as a football team and stick together whatever that decision is.

they were brought to the university to make the university millions of dollars. they have leverage and they're going to use it to affect change. good for them.

It appears he sent out a tweet in support of the players.

Another unintended consequence of global warming.

Thought you blamed KFAN?
I'm confused.
In all seriousness, I believe the players have a right to protest, but I also hope the school doesn't cave to their demands if it isn't warranted. Beyond that I don't know enough about the incidents they're protesting to comment further.

if i was the regents at the school, i'd call the bluff of the team and the hungry guy. whether or not the president should be gone is one thing, publicity stunts like this is another.

Wow, what an idiotic response. As the former player stated, this has been building for quite a while. Mizzu is dead as an athletic program unless they dismiss the president and address the issues. How many black players are going to go their under these circumstances? None!!!! Football is not the issue, it is just the way to get their voices heard. We are talking about issues that are much bigger than a silly game with SMU.

White male privilege means your parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc, etc were faithful to one another.

Most kids choose a school in athletics because of the coaching staff. Not saying this is the case for all, but most don't really care about the academic differences between Mizzou and say Texas or Minnesota. They want to go to the NFL and will commit to the place that gives them that shot. Gary Pinkel and his staff have sent plenty of guys to the league. He has also proven to be a tolerant human being by the way he handled coaching Michael Sam. I like the message Pinkel is sending, but if he had gone the other way I don't think it would have the negative consequences that others think it would either.
