Minus McNeal are we done?

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

This decreases the margin for error injury-wise, certainly, but let's not overstate the impact. This isn't losing Hollins, Mathieu, Mo, EE, King, or even Mason & Morris, all essential rotation guys. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Buggs can do if/when he gets extended minutes. He's the guy Gophers will need to step up.

When did the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor? Didn't learn that in history class. :D Just messing with you of course.

Joe coleman would be playing significant minutes this season for us. I'll never understand why he left. It seems his style of play fits this system well.

It amazes me how no one blinked when Coleman left but when Mcneil is gone we aren't making the tourney anymore? Coleman was a double digit scorer even only as a sophomore and would have been the third best returning player yet Mcneil was only averaging 3 points and were screwed.

BTW Pitino actually didn't think his style fit in at all. Great in transition of course but you need to have a better handle and shot to play in a 3 guard system like this.

Best line in the thread! Totally agree. If losing this guy is the difference between a good season and not a good season there are much bigger issues...

It has as much to do with timing and team makeup as anything, Pitino rolled the dice by taking Diedhiou and Konate late and Lofton as a transfer, normally one guy wouldn't matter but this one might, the team is two guards short now, when you play a three guard system that is a lot.

Settle down boys and girls, there's a 'team' involved. The coaching staff will figure it all out.

I wouldn't rule out some spot minutes for Shell when we have foul trouble and favorable matchups. He's worked very hard and is a smart kid.

Uumm, McNeil is gone midseason, while Coleman left in the offseason. Kinda easier to replace a player in the offseason, don't you think?

Yeah, if you can't see how the circumstances are different, no one's going to be able to explain it.
