Picks and Parlays has Minnesota winning 47-14
The Minnesota Golden Gophers come into week two still at home looking to stay undefeated. Minnesota pulled off a narrow 3 point victory over Nebraska to open the year following a last second field goal. Defensively Minnesota had some issues but locked in heavy allowing just ten points including only three in the fourth quarter on 295 total yards of offense. Offensively Minnesota found their way late accumulating 251 total yards and scored thirteen points including ten in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.

Athan Kaliakmanis led the way for the Minnesota offense completing 24 passes for 196 yards and one score. Sean Tyler was the top ball carrier in the game with 41 yards on 10 carries. Daniel Jackson led all receivers in the game with 68 yards and one touchdown on 9 receptions, while Corey Crooms Jr. added 63 yards on 7 grabs.

Both teams are undefeated and will look to stay that way following week two. Minnesota has the edge on their home field and their talent will be the difference. Look for the Golden Gophers to remain undefeated as they pull off the home win and cover against a good Eastern Michigan team. Take Minnesota Saturday to get the job done at home.

I see no way they score 14 on Gophers.

Week 2 vs. Eastern Michigan (9/9)

The Gophers take on Eastern Michigan at Huntington Bank Stadium in their second consecutive game of the season. The Eagles went 9-4 in 2022, including a bowl game victory over San Jose State. Chris Creighton hopes to build on the past season’s success, but his team will be overmatched in all three phases of the game. The Gophers will dominate the Eagles and cruise to an easy victory.

Projection: Gophers win 48-9

Go Gophers!!

Big Al’s Sports Picks has Minnesota winning 21-10
The current betting odds have Eastern Michigan listed as a 20.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Minnesota won their 1st game of the season and they were a really good team last season but it has been their defense that is keeping them in games since their offense hasn't been putting up a ton of points.

They only beat Nebraska 13-10 in their 1st game at home and now they are at home again but MAC schools always come to play power 5 schools hard so EMU will be looking to keep this a close game. The Minnesota defense is going to be key in this game as they will carry the team here.

Eastern Michigan won't score a lot of points on that defense, but they are still going to put some points up and the Minnesota offense is also going to struggle to put points up after their performance at home in week 1.

Hero Sports has Minnesota winning 35-10
Minnesota gave up just 10 points to Nebraska last week. I’m expecting the Gophers to not allow many more at home against EMU… A 35-10 game, with Minnesota winning, seems like a likely outcome to me.

Wait and see the prediction I got from an EMU reporter tomorrow…

EMU might not turn the ball over 4 times, as Nebraska did. That could lead to some more points.

I predict we don’t throw as much and work on getting our running game going. I think if we air raid it we score 40 plus but since we’re working run game we keep it at around 28.

So with that, I’ll predict

Gophers 31
EMU 7

College Football News is predicting a 31-16 Minnesota victory
Minnesota will start running early. It won't work, but it'll keep running and eventually start to wear down the Eagles.

It's Minnesota, so nothing is ever easy, and it's Eastern Michigan, so it's going to make everything difficult, but it'll start to break wide open in the second half when for the first time in this just-started season the Gopher O starts to click.

The Pioneer Press has the Gophers winning 27-10
Fleck is 18-1 in nonconference games, but that one defeat left a pockmark. As a 31-point favorite, the Gophers were stunned by a 14-10 loss to MAC school Bowling Green in 2021. Never say never, but the U will win by at least two touchdowns.

Bleacher Report has Minnesota winning 24-13

RJ's expectation: The Gophers start fast, get enough of a running game going to keep EMU honest and keep the Eagles at arm's length before pulling away. Gophers 31, Eastern Michigan 13

Go Gophers!!
