Bye week is over and picks are coming out on the game for Floyd. Here we go.

Picks and Parlays has Iowa winning 17-10
The key to this game will be Minnesota's ability to overcome the challenges they have faced and find a way to effectively score against Iowa's strong defense. Likewise, the Hawkeyes will need to strategize to counter the Golden Gophers' offensive strengths and maintain their impressive defensive performance.

Given the Iowa Hawkeyes' dominant record at home, coupled with their strong defense and the challenges faced by the Minnesota Golden Gophers on the road, it is likely that the Hawkeyes will come out on top and cover the spread in this matchup. With their impressive performance throughout the season, our best bet is IOWA -5.5. Final score prediction, the Iowa Hawkeyes win, covers the spread and the total stays under.

Sports Chat Place is predicting an Iowa victory
Minnesota hasn't looked good against any respectable team it's played this season, and is 121st in total offense and 113th in scoring offense. That's not ideal on the road against an Iowa team that's 26th in total defense and 10th in scoring defense.

Iowa just held Wisconsin to 6 points on the road and is allowing an average of 12 points in its last 3 games. I just don't see how Minnesota is going to have offensive success in this game. The line feels soft. Give me the Hawkeyes by a touchdown.

Cappers Picks has Iowa edging Minnesota 17-14
The Golden Gophers’ offense is set to face Iowa while averaging 180.5 rushing yards per game and 4 yards per attempt. In the national rankings, they currently stand at 58th for rushing yards and 126th for passing yards, with an average of 132.8 yards per matchup. Overall, Minnesota is putting up 21.7 points per game, which is 79th nationally.

Iowa is coming off a 15-6 win over the Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes benefited from a strong first-half, going into halftime with a 7-0 lead.j

Scores and Stats is predicting an 18-15 win for Iowa
Offensive struggles notwithstanding, the Hawkeyes are 5-0 this season in games decided by 10 points or fewer.
Minnesota (3-3, 1-2) has lost three of four games following a 2-0 start but looks to be well-rested for its second straight test against a ranked foe.

The Golden Gophers haven't played since suffering a 52-10 home rout to No. 2 Michigan on Oct. 7. Minnesota quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis threw for a touchdown to Daniel Jackson but also had a pair of interceptions returned for scores.

Have a feeling this is what most of the national picks are going to look like for this one. Low scoring, Iowa win, both teams under 20 points for the game. Will be very surprised if anyone predicts scores over 20 for either team.

Black Hearts Gold Pants (Iowa SB Nation) has Iowa winning 16-13
The Hawkeyes have rattled off three straight wins after notching their first win in Camp Randall since 2015. As a result, Iowa finds itself atop the Big Ten West standings and in complete control of its own destiny for a trip to Indianapolis as the last representative from the West in conference history.

But controlling your own destiny is easier said than done when you are struggling to field an offense as the Hawkeyes are. And not they face off with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who come to town looking for their first win in the battle for Floyd of Rosedale since head coach PJ Fleck arrived in Minneapolis.

Hawk Central (USA Today Network) is predicting a 23-13 Iowa victory
Emotions will be high in Kinnick Stadium, and much like the Michigan State win the deafening crowd will make a fourth-quarter difference. Bold prediction: A wide receiver leads Iowa in receiving yardage for the first time in the last 13 games.

College Football News has Iowa winning 20-13
2014. That was the last time Minnesota was able to hold Floyd of Rosedale - a bronze pig going to the winner of this - over its head.

Eight of the last nine, nine of the last 11, and the Gophers last partied in Iowa City like it’s 1999 in … 1999. Iowa does this better than Minnesota.

The Gophers will make a few mistakes, let their guard down for one moment, and that will be just enough for the Hawkeyes to bust through to put a stranglehold on the Big Ten West.

And no, this will not go under the record-setting point total (uhhhhhhhh, I think).

Athlon Sports is going with Iowa, 27-15
Our computer model projects a win for the Iowa Hawkeyes when they meet the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Kinnick Stadium.

The Hawkeyes head into the matchup after winning 15-6 over the Wisconsin Badgers in their last game on October 14. Their last time out, the Golden Gophers were beaten by the Michigan Wolverines 52-10.

The Daily Gopher (Minnesota SB Nation) has Iowa winning 10-9
The Gophers have lost eight straight to the Hawkeyes. Six of those losses have been one-score games. Minnesota has not won in Iowa City since 1999. That is a streak of 10 straight road losses to their division rival. P.J. Fleck is 0-6 against Kirk Ferentz.

The Gophers have also never beaten a ranked opponent on the road under Fleck. Even with Iowa boasting the worst offense in the country and losing three starters to season-ending injuries, recent history seems stacked against Minnesota. Please, God, have mercy on us.

Bleacher Report is going with Iowa, 31-9
Other than Penn State, no team has surpassed 16 points against this stellar Iowa defense. Minnesota, which ranks 119th nationally in yards per play, seems likely to struggle on the road.

Prediction: The Gophers will need to take care of the ball and produce a few explosive plays on offense. Against this Hawkeyes team, that’s not asking too much. But after a long, painful drought, finally getting a win against a rival will mean a heck of a lot in Minnesota. Gophers, 17-14

The Star Tribune is predicting a 17-16 Minnesota victory
The Gophers will win if: they control the ball with Darius Taylor and Zach Evans and take an early lead; they find productivity in the passing game; they win the turnover battle; and their defense shuts down Iowa's running game, forcing backup QB Deacon Hill to beat them.

The Hawkeyes will win if: They score first and put the pressure on the Gophers; they get production from RBs Leshon Williams and Kaleb Johnson; they overcome the losses of tight ends Erick All and Luke Lachey with help from wideout Nico Ragaini; their defense pressures Gophers QB Athan Kaliakmanis; and punter Tory Taylor consistently flips the field.

Although the Gophers haven't been impressive this season, they have a great opportunity Saturday — maybe their best under Fleck — to right some wrongs. Iowa will be without its top quarterback and two top pass-catchers at tight end, making the Hawkeyes even more one-dimensional on offense.

If Kaliakmanis can keep the Iowa defense honest by being a legitimate threat to pass, then Taylor and Evans could have solid games. The Gophers defense must start fast and eliminate the big plays Iowa has used to eke out victories the past two years. Also, keeping punt return ace Cooper DeJean in check would do wonders.

My expectation: It will be another tight game between the Gophers and Hawkeyes. This time, Floyd travels north.

The stinking Hawkeye got their first win in Madison’s Camp Randall since 2015 last week. Streaks end. The Gopher losing streak to the stinking Hawkeye will end and tomorrow is as good a day as any to take down that streak and that stinking Hawkeye!

Don't quarrel with your logic that streaks end, but the road team (Iowa) losing 3 in a row in Madison is not out of the norm. In contrast, the Gophers losing 10 in a row in Iowa City is performing well below the norm.

I wonder what the media was predicting when we put up 51 unanswered points against Iowa in 2014?
Would be nice to have things finally click for the Gophers and blow them out at Kinnick!

And: streaks end. I agree that what the stinking Hawkeye did to the equally foul-smelling Badger was nothing special last week. Streaks always end. This Saturday is exactly the kind of Saturday in any October/November that the ending of a streak can happen.

And it’s so meaningful that a lot of Gopher fans aren’t even seeing the logic or possibility of the inevitable demise of a streak!

Beat the stinking Hawkeye, Gopher!
