Minnesota Football Recruiting (since 2004)

Yeah, I was thinking of things like that as well, Pewter. Situations are different for individual recruits, and that may influence the type of offers they get. I just found it interesting to look at the past and just see the names that were committed to this program and how it actually was the case that some of the most successful players here were either light on offers, or didn't have any, like Decker, Barber, Russell, WVDS, etc. It'll be interesting to look at things, say, three years from now and see how these recent classes have truly shaped up.

That is the true fun in these debates, the fact that it's all popcorn in the pan, and we are just waiting to see who pops and who are the "old maids". On the star thing, it a system set up to fail. Most big time programs have 5 star kids who never play because of injury, grades, the law, or just can't win the job, etc. Programs like Minnesota and others will always have 2 star or lowers who become All-Whatever and go to the pros. All it is is opinion and conjecture, and doesn't really do much more the fuel arguments and kill time until pads start popping in spring and summer and we get to see what it is we have been talking about this whole time.
