per Dustin:

Minnesota has enjoyed quite a bit of success on the football field since P.J. Fleck took over in 2017, but the program is also seeing significant improvement elsewhere.

On Thursday, the football program announced that it had set a new record for cumulative team grade point average (GPA). The team had a cumulative GPA of 3.48, the highest ever in program history.

Go Gophers!!

Character and commitment in the classroom usually carries over to the field. Congrats to everyone involved...extremely impressive!

Here's the big question though:

Will WCCO cover this too?
It is very hardwork. So less homework and assignments please. These students should not be forced into doing things they don't like do such as turning in assignments. It is not good for their mental and physical health.

Can't wait for the WCCO story that talks about how football players are struggling with all night study groups, eye strain due to extensive reading/screen studying and fatigue from the pressure to succeed in the classroom. I am sure they are looking for some fringe ex-professor with an axe to grind and a few out of context sound bites to string together for this story now.

And it will be a multi part series about how they are punished for getting Cs and ridiculed if their GPA drops below a 3.0.

Waiting for boomtime to chime in about how much better things were during the mason era.
Here we go again with that self-promoter Fleck. He'll probably even TWEET about this! Where does he get off running an organized, clean program that's both respectable on the field and achieves success in the classroom?! He's probably just doing this to get another book deal! /s

This is great, and all. But at some point .... I'd rather have an extra win and a 3.2, over a 3.5.

These guys are here to play football, not be straight A students. You can earn your degree with a B average, quite nicely.
