Minnesota 2025-2026

A bench 3-point shooter with size is not a bad addition for a team that finished 17th in 3-pt% against BIG competition.
Many on this forum have looked for additional 3-point shooting... discussion has been around getting a player with "Steward-like" qualities. Well, I believe Bershears can help fulfill those wishes... reasonable size, 3-pt shooting, reasonable FT%.

Also, I like the unknown benefit of having her play a year with Zoey...

Wonder if they will use the last spot for younger player with few years of eligibility, as next year, unless rules change or things happen a lot will be going. Still think Gracie Johnson from Utah State would be one to consider. Little more height that could learn well from the veterans.
Gracie is an interesting player for sure. I wonder if they hold on to the last spot for next year. 2026 class is going to be important for coach P as we will be somewhat younger, but will have nice pieces in Braun, Tori, and GG. That is why I think making the tourney next year is so key for recruiting in 2026. Coach P is off to a good start with top 50 recruit Tori coming in, hopefully she can get a monster class.

Yup, pretty much have it as flip flop of last year with home and away games and Wisconsin staying the team play twice.
The whole league has a reverse schedule from last year. Not much to announce. Will be interesting to see if they correct the schedule imbalance after two years of the 18-team league. The league needs to split OSU and Maryland from USC and UCLA. Makes no sense for teams to play USC, UCLA, OSU and Maryland either all at home or all on the road.

Minnesota and Duke as the only top 25 teams on this list that return all 5 starters? Think so at first blush. Anyone else?

Compared to so many BIG teams that will start 1 or more new transfers or freshman next year, the Gophers have less of a challenge in terms of integrating key new players, even with getting Braun and Woodson back. The Gophers should be able to hit the ground running to start next season. Another reason to play some meaningful games against good competition in the non-conference season.

Think 1 roster spot still available for next year correct? Gracie Johnson 6-6 Jr with shooting and blocking capability is still available and could help with some added length. Don't see any updates on her potential spots.

Opting to do missionary work for LDS.

I haven't seen her play but I like the addition. I am so excited for this upcoming season.

Schedule news:
A big improvement from the multi-team events last year in Tempe and New Orleans. A good first step, but looking for similar big improvement in the home and hopefully road portions of the non-conference schedule.

So to recap so far, we know...

-Milwaukee
-@USF (Neutral Court Tournament)
-@Alabama/Harvard (Neutral Court Tournament)

A few more tidbits...

Likely will have a non-con game at a Big 12 School (not Iowa State) as part 1 of home/home and the team will come to the barn in 26-27 season.

Hearing could have a road game either at Creighton or Drake scheduled this year as well. Not both but unclear which one but will be one

Waiting on one or two more games to add to complete NC schedule is what i'm told.

. . .

Think maybe the Gophers owe Drake a game. After not playing Drake for 15 years, the Gophers played Drake in 2020, 2021 and 2023, twice in Minneapolis, and once in Des Moines.

Coach P does have a lot of history playing both of these teams. Looking at Drake‘s roster, they have two Minnesota girls, but neither are seniors. Creighton does not have their whole roster online yet. However, they do have one Minnesota senior listed, so it could be a homecoming game for her.

You're right. I did confirm it's at Drake.

So far, once again, what we know is

-Milwaukee
-@USF (Neutral Court Tournament)
-@Alabama/Harvard (Neutral Court Tournament)
-@ Drake
-@ Big 12 School (I'm hearing either Colorado or Kansas)

-Also hearing possible opening season at home vs Alabama A&M, but not confirmed
