Coach Adams is a lifelong member of the North Minneapolis community and works as a Minneapolis police officer.

He recently won, "The Jerry Kill Power of Influence Award" which honors a Minnesota head high school football coach for his effect on his players, school and community.

Last season the Polars advanced to the Prep Bowl where they finished as the State 2A runner-up.

Minneapolis North has posted a 77-8 record under Adams over the past seven seasons.

Go Gophers!!

Somebody named an award after Jerry Kill? How incredibly shortsighted.

I hope he isn't "influenced" to leave for another job every other week.
Seriously though I'm glad he's getting recognition. People said the program almost shuttered the doors a few years ago and now they are a pretty stout program.
Good for you, coach. Keep sending Tyler Johnson types and others to the U. Nice pipeline.

Well, it's obvious Coach Adams is a ball coach. Seriously, nice to see him recognized whatever the award. Not too many years ago, they wanted to shutter North High, but there's a lot of pride in that community and Adams' and his teams' performance are another point of pride.

Coach Adams is a ball coach. He turns boys into men and football is his........
Oh wait a minute.

ol' jer' is a ball coach. it's who he is, it's in his blood. he turns boys into men and football is his vehicle. it's no surprise to me that there is an award named after him honoring high school coaches who carry jer's mantle on impacting the boys. coaches like coach adams are also very important in the lives of many. he'ls doing big work, he's doing coach kill work. it won't surprise me if states like virginia, texas, illinois and new jersey have similar awards named after kill as he had big impacts in those communities as well.

The fact that MN State FB coaches have an award named after Jerry Kill says something about the way he was perceived/accepted by the local coaching community.

Has Kill made questionable decisions? Yes. Has he done some good things for the U of MN? Also yes.

People are complicated. they are capable of both good and bad behavior. Kill is no different.

Seems like a lot of people these days live in a black and white world (love or hate). They forget that it's ok to like both Kill and Fleck. Liking one doesn't have to mean hating the other.

ol' jer' is a self-serving SOB. it's who he is, it's in his blood. he turns his back on boys and men and football is his vehicle. it surprises me that there is an award named after him honoring high school coaches who do not carry jer's mantle on abandoning the boys. coaches like coach adams are far more important in the lives of many. he's doing big work, he's doing work coach kill won't do anymore. it won't surprise me if states like virginia, texas, illinois and new jersey have abandoned similar awards named after kill as he has abandoned those communities as well.

Jerry Kill helped pushed the Athletic Village fundraising handling additional stress to his health doing what Woody Mega-tongue was supposed to do. This is my understanding.

He started the house cleaning, and PJ Fleck did the finishing touch.

He is recruiting kids from all the metro teams to come play for him in 2A promising offers.
